I have just updated 8 to 8.1 and my printer cannot operate because my "printer spool is turned off" according to the message window.
Please someone, where can I turn the spool on?

So I recently reinstalled Windows and formatted my drive (everything's gone!). I went to install Rome 2 and tried launching the game, but I get this strange error ...

twitchsdk_32_release.dll is missing

I'd gotten a previous dll error (but I installed DirectX redistributable 2010 feb) to fix it. I really don't know how else to fix this error.


Things I've done:

- Download DirectX Web Installer --> Installation failed (told me to check DirectX Log at the start of installation)
- Download DirectX 2010 Feb Redistributable --> Installation success (solved an initial missing DLL error)
- Run the DirectX installer inside the Rome 2 folder to make sure required files are installed --> Success, but still failure to launch game.


This is getting very annoying. I never had this issue prior to reinstalling windows.

I upgraded my desktop to Windows 8 a month ago, and it ran smoothly for about two weeks. Then, applications, including explorer.exe began lagging and crashing randomly, just saying "[Application] is not responding" thing. I did some error testing, and found out that my HDD was wearing out, so I replaced it. But, when I got the new hard drive, the problems kept happening. I tried wiping the SSD and installing Windows 7 instead, but nothing changed. Windows perfmon and memtest didn't find any errors, and I ran chkdsk on both drives, which fixed some errors, but not the problem.

The only thing I could think of that could be causing this was my unparked CPU cores, but I parked them, and, again, nothing changed.

Any ideas on how to fix this, or what hardware I should test next?

Hi,

Im trying to install some software and it requires to be mounted, so im using daemon tools lite to do this. Ive had no problems in the past with this but for some reason, it comes up with "You already have the maximum number of drives." As far as I'm aware, ive only got expression web installed on a virtual device and one other thing which is now uninstalled.

So how do I add virtual devices?

Would really appreciate some help :)

Hi,
I installed windows 7 operating system(Ultimate) on my machine today.later I found that the programs that were supposed to be shown in "Install/Uninstall" tab of control panel were not visible not even the programs that are installed as part of OS installation.I went through your previous posts about the similar kind of issue but couldn't get much luck out of it.Please help me to come out of this situation as it is worrying me much.Hope to listen from you very soon.

Hello, I hope everyone is doing well.

I have an issue with a laptop at my company. We have a network wireless AP, and everyone can authenticate to it except for one machine. Usually I will run a gpupdate /force and that will fix the problem, but this one laptop will not take the gpupdate force.

I have searched the net for a few days and could not find out how to get this fixed.

I hope someone can help me with my issue!

HI All,
After uninstalling Botrevolt software and cleaning the registry of any botrevolt references that I could find, I get the "class win32_error start service 2 the system cannot find the file" on boot up. It does not seem to be an issue, otherwise. Only on startup do I get the message and there seems to be no adverse effect on operations. How can I get rid of the error?

As I mentioned, I picked up a new computer a few days ago.

Everything was going okay. Games ran smoothly. Played some Skyrim (favourite game of all time) on the 3rd, then again some more the morning of the 4th.

Then at some point in the 4th, I installed.. something. Now I have graphic lag. It's like skipping a frame or two every few seconds.

Here's a list of running tasks and programs installed.



Any suggestions on what could be causing it?

I don't know what MS Silverlight is.
Nor do I know anything about the Visual C++ things.

Help would be appreciated, as this is the same problem I had BEFORE I got a new computer. =/

I also installed/uninstalled Samsung Kies. Which still won't detect my phone. But that's a story for another day.

Greetings legendary people,

I'm back again with my seemingly annual Windows Vista problem. Windows Update had again caused a recurring BSOD. So, I did a fresh install of Vista and have been downloading an installing Windows Updates. It all seemed to be going pretty well, then it came to install SP1. The installer pops up and it only takes about 30s, says it was installed successfully then disappears. My update history says it has installed successfully, although it doesn't appear on the Installed Updates page. My system screen doesn't mention that SP1 is installed.
Next time I use check for updates, it says SP1 is available to install. I have done this several times now, with the same problem.

Obviously there is some software that requires SP1 or SP2 so I need to update.

I have tried various solutions, and have gone through to the Microsoft Support Live Chat (which was useless). I tried sfc scannow and there were no errors. I'd like to get your opinions on which steps to take and I'll report back with any errors I have.

My CQ5304UK desktop has behaved immpecably for a number of years but just in the last two weeks has developed a problem with the sound levels.

The soundcard is an M-Audio 2496 . When I play BBC Radio 3 live the level is down at -50dB on the 2496 meters and is of course very low playing through my Tannoy 5A monitors. It is however quite clean and noise and distortion free. On another W7/64 desktop the levels are at -20dB with peaks to -4dB. This is also the case on another XP machine.



Youtube sources play back at close to 0dB and all my recordings are at the correct levels. If I go to the BBC archive sites THAT music is at the correct level. It is just live sound that is wrong. The same problem is found at live Clasic FM.



Had I just this computer I would of course blame the BBC's and CFM's delivery system!



The CQ also plays the wrong levels out of a Native Instruments KA6 interface.



I am really stumped!





I have gotten rid of and re installed Flash and re installed the 2496 drivers, all to no effect.

Hi, I just updated my intel graphic drivers, not sure if this part is common or not but partway through the installation the display went off, then seemed to show a glitched display for about 1 second, black then the normal display returned, the installation then rapidly deleted a load of what i presume were the overidden or old version files and finished as a normal installation would. I closed the dialog box then got the windows message "this program might not have installed correctly"
If the graphic drivers hadn't installed right surely the system wouldn't be displaying with my normal settings and would have switched to the motherboard very basic drivers?
It did install an audio driver as well from the same install program and those hd audio drivers aren't ones I use as I have realtek audio and drivers for that.
So wondering why I would have gotten the possible installation error message.

This has been happening quite often, can someone please help me out, this flash player keeps crashing and freezing everything.
