I have been having this problem for awhile, whether just using my desktop or playing a game the screen will go black on and off. I tried a different screen and 3 different video cards and can't figure out what is going on. I read on one of the forums that it could be bad ram, I have 4 2gig OCZ sticks so I put them in 1 at a time snd still have the issue. Any ideas would be welcomed.

Audio glitch in Mp3

I listen to the podcasts on the regular. One in particular I like to re listen to. I noticed that certain episodes have become "glitchy" (if that is the right term). It happens through iTunes and Windows Media Player. I have isolated one of the glitches, but can't post a mp3. I have no idea how to fix it or if it is even fixable. One thing I know it is the mp3 itself and nothing else.

Windows Graphics Score dropped significantly

The Aero graphics score dropped from 7.4 to 5.0 a couple of days ago for no apparent reason. No software nor hardware changes had been made. I tried restoring to her previous time when it was working correctly and that didn't help nor did running Microsoft performance repair. It also doesn't change if I switch from my Nvidia GPU to the Intel GPU so I believe it's a software issue with some kind. The video performance for gaming has not changed and remains at 7.1. System is running Windows 7x64 Pro SP1.

The Speccy information for the system is attached.

Hi there,

Same problem as described on http://www.techsupportforum.com/foru...em-824818.html

Synopsis: Years ago, installed gpedit on version of Windows 7 that doesn't support it, now sfc reports unable to repair corruption on associated dlls (because, you know, they don't belong there :nonono:).

Hoping NoelDP would be willing to lend a hand. :flowers:

Changed screen res settings to TV via HDMI, now crashes the computer.

I have a TV that I've been connecting to my PC (Windows 7) via HDMI as a second monitor. Ever since I first plugged it in it's worked fine although the resolution has looked a little weird.

The weirdness got to me, so I pulled up the screen resolution settings on my computer and tried setting different resolutions. I hit "Apply" to test one and both screens began flickering and then I got a blue screen.

Now whenever I plug the TV back in to the PC, the monitor flickers, I see a warning message in the bottom right pop up (something about a driver being successfully restarted or something - sorry, hard to read while the screen is flickering), and it crashes.

I'd be totally fine getting it back to how it was before I meddled, but I just want it working again. Any thoughts? I can provide further info about the TV and such if necessary, but I'm inclined to believe this is a more generic issue.

Thank you so much!

Windows on a new build...

i'm about to be building my first pc. i know that they're offering that free upgrade to windows 10 soon, so i thought i could maybe get windows 7 a bit cheaper than windows 8, and then upgrade from there when the time comes. but having never done this before, the wording on a lot of the windows 7 descriptions i'm seeing for sell is really confusing me.
i dont know what OEM means.
when it say, "This software is intended for pre-installation on a new personal computer for resale" ... is that what i'm doing, or not? i'm certainly not going to be selling it. what's "pre-installation" mean?
i keep seeing stuff like, "...ONLY be distributed with a fully assembled computer system". so then i cant/should use that??

i guess bottom line, i just want a legit copy of windows as cheap as i can get it that i know for certain will be able to upgrade to windows 10. help!!

Not enough space available to complete this operation!?

Hi!

So I was going to try to fix a problem with an laptop, where you couldn't find any available networks. However when I was going to try some solutions, I stumbled upon another problem. When I ran things like the Device Manager, Windows Update or the Administration Tool I received a note that said "There isn't enough storage available to complete this operation" from Microsoft Management Console. I checked my RAM and hard drive and they've plenty of space available so I don't really understand what the problem is. I would really appreciate some help.

Trackpad doesn't work, gives error "code 10" on every other boot

I've got a weird problem here to report. I'm on a Lenovo N200 laptop running Windows 7 x64. Around half the time, the computer will boot up with the trackpad not responding. During times when this happens, I can look into the device manager and see a "code 10" ("device cannot start") for the trackpad. Restarting the computer fixes the problem.

I've had the problem once or twice over the last few years, but just a few weeks ago, it started happening very regularly (+/- 50% of all startup attempts). I can't recall making any notable changes to the system lately that could cause something like this. When the problem first started, it also affected the display adapter (Windows would start with an extremely low resolution and the graphic card would show a similar fault in the device manager, in addition to the trackpad problem described here), but this has since stopped.

I have tried updating the driver for the trackpad to a newer version, but the problem persists.

Hardware faults were considered, but I was able to successfully boot the computer from a WinPE CD five times in a row with no issues, so it would seem like this is less likely to be a hardware bug.

Any ideas as to where to go from here? I don't want to have to reinstall an otherwise clean and functional operating system for something this trivial.

Hey, Because i have a question like a topic said, so i don't open the new post to asking for, There i have the case that i needed is disable all the USB port and only leave one for use. I have been pay a long day to search a way to do this. I mostly found out the way is disable all of that. But my case is just for one, so it is not matching my requirement. I already try out the USBDeview, But is seem like to disable the device that your won't let it connect to your computer, and i is not want all the USB Storage connect for. And as Phantom010 mention to disable the USB Hub, it also seen nothing happen when i disabled.

I also know the method to turning off via the physical way for example to disable on BIOS, or unplug the USB hub. But those not i want to. i just need a software or window OS method to disable the USB port. Do anyone can help?

Sorry for my terrible English.

[SOLVED] windows 7 - monitor driver disabled - monitor does not work

Question: How can I reactivate my monitor without reformatting the hard drive?
This is what happened:
Two monitors were hooked to my computer, (Dell Inspiration), and I had to reduce it into one monitor.

I opened: screen resolution
Clicked on: Advanced settings
Clicked on: Monitor
Clicked on: Driver
Clicked on: Disable

After I did that, one monitor became completely dark, and the second monitor display was if it would run in safe mode, (graphic quality was so bad, it hurt to my eyes to watch it). I checked the device list and both monitor was removed from the list, there were no monitor listed anymore (before they were there).
I tried the system restore, but after the system restore finished, there were no more connection with the monitor.
When I start the computer, the monitor works for few seconds, shows the start up process, and right after the windows logo displayed, it shuts off. I tried to reboot in "safe mode", and it starts up as usual, (the monitor works), but before it reaches the desktop screen, it shuts off.

Windows version is: Windows 7
Computer: DELL Inspiration 546s
Operating System: 64-bit
Processor: AMD

Thank you in advance for your help

Script Error

On my HP Mini running Wondows7, I get a message (occasionally) that script https://fbstatic-a.akamaihd.ne…src.p...kOJgQ8UCZ.js:7 is not working. There is an option to trouble shoot it, and when I select it, I get some trouble shooting detail in my browser that I have no idea what to do with. I have a screen shot (.png) of it, but don't know how to post it here. If someone would be kind enough to explain, I will post it.

Looking for help on how to fix this script.

Thanks.

No video output in Windows 7 after Windows updates

So I have this pretty damn weird problem. I've done a complete reinstall (on a new HD no less) of windows 7 but the problem persists.
This is what happens:
-Clean install of Win 7
-Installation of drivers
-Installation of updates & service pack 1
-Test system: everything works like it should. There remain dozens of updates to do in windows.
-I run the updates. They install and pc reboots.
-Power on pc. I see POST, I see bios info, BUT the white-on-black letters seem slightly blurry while they're normally perfectly crisp.
Also, when I enter my UEFI bios, it doesn't completely fit the screen anymore (parts get cut off).
-Upon further booting I see the Windows starting animation - EXCEPT, it's like the old windows VISTA animation (with a bar underneath the logo, rather than the animated windows 7 logo???)
-I momentarily lose video output, but I hear the windows login sound.
-My screen gets no input. I'm in Windows though since I can HEAR it react to, for example, ctrl-alt-del.
I've tried a full windows reinstall but the problems begin anew as soon as I install the latest updates. I've, of course, tried to roll back my Nvidia drivers to previous versions but they all give the same result (no video output in windows).
Starting in Safe mode or with the standard VGA drivers DOES give me video output.
I've tried hard disk scans, memtests, and generally everything I could feasibly think of. I've never had a windows update brick my machine before. My vid card is an old Titan GTX (single).
Has anyone ever heard of a similar problem or how to fix it?

[SOLVED] Windows Vista Basic -Logging In Problems

Hi,

After a cleaning out a friends garage, we've come across an old windows vista laptop that used to belong to her, unfortunately she cannot remember the password to log in. We don't have a password reset disk or the original windows disc and after looking on other forums I've tried starting it in safe mode and logging on as an administrator but the administrator account doesn't appear. I've heard that there is software than you can download, can anybody recommend any or have any other ideas as to how we can get into this laptop, thanks :)

Windows 7 Mounted Devices list in Registry

Hi

After replacing the HDD in my Laptop and reconfiguring it from the original Partitions of C Drive, System Reserved and Recovery to my current C Drive (System), E Drive (Data) and System Reserved I note that the list of Mounted Devices in the Registry contains many more items than I currently have connected or occasionally connect.

Is there a safe way to clean up this list to reflect my current situation?
