Need Admisistrator Ownership of Two Photos in My Pictures Folder

0
0
This is the craziest problem I have ever run across.......:4-dontkno......

I've been running some photos through photoshop, around 12 or so, and when I finished saving them in the proper folder, within the folder My Pictures, I decided two of them needed to be deleted.

When I right-click on these two photos, one at a time, and try to delete them, I'm asked, "Are you sure you want to move this file to the recycle bin?" I click on "Yes."

Then I'm told, "You'll need to provide Administrator Permission to delete this file." I click on "Continue."

Then I am told, "You need permission to perform this action. You require permission from the computer's Administrator t6o make changes to this file."

So, I went online to Bing and asked the question, "How do I make myself administrator of my PC?" and a window from a Microsoft Community board came up.

The URL is this......How do i make myself the administrator? - Microsoft Community

I followed all the instructions on making myself my own administrator of the folder My Pictures, yet still cannot access these two photos in the My Pictures folder.

Why is it I am denied access to these two photos? How do I change this?

Moving System Reserved Partition

Recently, I noticed a clattering noise on my only hard drive, which many of you may know means the disk is at the end of its life. As a result, I backed up my files and purchased another.
In disk management, the system reserved partition is on the dying drive and I want to move it onto the new one. The situation may be more tricky because the C: and D: drives are only logical drives and I have no separate hard drives for each.
Could you guys help me move the system reserved partition to the other drive so I can disconnect the dying one? Thanks.

Not Finding Deleted Files

0

Strangely your editor does not allow me to enter a title Using Firefox.

Hello again,

No matter which undelete programme I try, not one of them will ever find a deleted file.

I copy a file to a directory on C: or D:, delete it and then empty the Recycle Bin. Whatever application I care to use, the file, which is very unlikely to have been overwritten, can not be found. No trace of it ever.

The undelete applications are on drive Z: so that running the undeleter should have no effect on drive C: or D: where the deletion has been done.

Is there something wrong with my discs, or is it the security app ? It worked in XP !

I don't know where to post this.
I have Vista HP SP2 on an Toshiba L305 I use FF with noscript and ad blocker and ghostery and LSO removal on close of window. I have used them for a long time these problems started recently.
When I go to some pages it seems to remember me anyway. I have do not track checked.
I could not login to ebay yesterday. Well the page I was viewing would not say I was logged in and took me to sign in when I tried to use it but it did let me change my password.
I used the Ubuntu machine with FF and it did let me log in.????

I also go to a website that has a forum which one uses to ask questions. Normally after I logout my question is moved up the que to the front page. Now when I go to the site it does not show the most recent posts even after I login I have to finf my old post then post something new and then it goes to the current front page. ? I'm thinking there is some new scripting feature or something in the settings in FF that I am not aware of having changed causing this. Or maybe I'm nutso? I suppose it could be a virus but that is an odd thing for a virus to do.
Any Ideas folks? It is rather bothersome.
Thank You .

hard drive access denied

Hi guys

Not sure if this belongs here...if it doesn't please direct me to the right place or move this thread :)

I am helping a friend that got a black screen of death with movable cursor.

I was unable to access windows from safe mode or anything. At this point I am just trying to recover his data, so I removed his HD and used a SATA to USB converter to access his drive from my computer. I can see the device, but I am getting an access denied with no security tab to change permissions to myself. Is there any way to take ownership of the drive without the security tab? either by 3rd party software or a work around?

Thanks!!

Windows 7 is extremely slow for 30 minutes to an hour upon start-up every day...

I hope this is the right place to put this. Because I don't know what the exact problem is--whether hardware or software, I thought I'd start here.

So then, like the title says, my computer is extremely slow for around 30 minutes to an hour every day. This happens after the weekend when I turn it on after it was completely off for the weekend, and happens every morning during the week when I start it up from sleep mode.

After that initial start-up, it works just fine, for the most part. It's nothing fancy, but I'm able to work from it. It only has 2 GB of RAM, so I know it's lacking an immense prowess, but I don't understand why the start-up is so bad. I looked at what I have on start-up via WinPatrol, but found nothing particularly interesting. And even then it's only about 5 or 6 programs. Can anything be done or is it just the computer? Where can I start?

Thank you all very much.

Hi,
A friend has let the scammers take remote control of his laptop and they put a password on when he refused to pay. I'm trying to recover his files on my desktop but I keep getting the message that file names are too long (More than a hundred).
Is there anything I can do to allow longer names?

Thanks

Computer randomly shuts off and issue follows me

I work in a call center, and when ever I log in at some point the computer shuts itself down or restarts. When it comes back up it goes into system repair. Could this have to do with my profile in the system? I am not very tech savvy and all IT had done is reimaged the computers.
Something that happens often is Microsoft programs like outlook and excel will freeze up shortly before. Sometimes it works for an hour before doing this and sometimes it just does this upon logging in

Computer is running Windows 7, system won't allow me to look up model number.
I've been reading about corrupt profiles, not sure if that could cause this.
My ultimate question is what is the potential issue and could it be my profile?

SpeedyFox

I installed SpeedyFox 2.0.12.85. but I think that it has not installed properly and I would like to remove it.
The reason I believe it not to be working is it tells me to close my browser when my browser is already closed, no icon has appeared with the installation and it is not shown as a program in the add/remove programs list.
I can find the file via the Windows search box but there is no sign of it in the program files. How can I completely remove it ?

Two dll errors on startup, can't get rid of them?

So, every time I've started up my computer in the last month or so, I've been getting the following two DLL errors:

This has been happening since I ran a routine scan with MalewareBytes that picked up some trojans buried in my files. Ever since those trojans were deleted, these errors have been showing up.

Running further scans with MalwareBytes and Windows Defender (also, McAfee Stinger, just for good measure) has not yielded any further items to delete. And the files that are being referenced by these errors do not, in fact, exist on my system.

Googling the problem has so far only lead me to shifty "Fix DLL errors today!" sites promising a wonder program that will somehow increase the speed of my PC, fix all errors and make all my dreams come true for the low, low price of a $12 monthly subscription.

Thing is, isofar as I can tell, these errors don't seem to... do... anything. They just show up, I click the x, and they don't rear their heads again until I start my computer up the next time.

Was wondering if there was a way to shift these, as they're mildly annoying.

Adobe reader

Can someone lead me thru installation of Adobe reader?

I have removed the old version, which did not work, by deleting it from the program files. Control panel said it did not exist.

If I now ask for the newest version, it gives me DC, which won't install because a newer version is already there. But there is no version there.

If I ask for Reader XI, I get a zip file, and the setup there won't run beause I don't have a specific file in APPDATA.

Can't I pretend I have never had reader and start form scratch?

some glitches after restored win7

Hi,

I did a factory restore this morning and now I'm having a few problems I didn't have before. I'd appreciate any help on fixing any of these:

Windows update didn't update fully and now says totally updated - even though nothing on the windows 10 stuff, etc. I had >60 updates left (I do a few at a time) and got a BSD when rebooted then there were only a few 8 left when I got back from the BSD (the BSD seems to be over some hardware plugged in that seems to be failing but not sure what it is). Windows was activated as soon as I finished the restore - before starting to update things.

I turned off sound in all my accounts but when windows boots up there's that horrible windows theme. Before when I turned off the sound in personalize that stopped the horrible windows theme when booting up. Do I need to do anything more?

I use mostly my general account and it won't allow me to access temp under run so I can delete temp files. How can I fix this, please?

I also had problems at first updating windows in the general account - it wouldn't allow me to; however, all of a sudden it's working, and I always update it in the general account.

In the past I had the document file in the left side of my task bar by the icons for browsers, etc. Now, I can't get it there, just on the right side as a tool bar - but I don't like it there or the way it's displayed there. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Also, in the general account (where I do most things) I can't seem to access some of my programs - it doesn't even find them if I type their name into search for programs for files; however, it's there in admin account. I'm specifically looking for contacam as I used it before in my general file.

Thank you for any help.

Double Boot?

First let me thank the many Tech Supporter's on your website. Indirectly they have solved many problems for me just by my reading about other users problems. What a fantastic group!

I really don't know if this is a problem or not. It could be caused by virus detection or other programs I have loaded but I don't see any posts about it.

When I start my computer it goes through to the login process OK. After logging in Windows starts and all icons appear as they should. Then the icons all clear of color (outlines and titles remain) and after a short time delay they all appear to reload again. The spinning "wait" icon continues and it takes several minutes before the Microsoft Security Essentials icon completes and changes from red to green. Internet use is then slow to start as well.

I have the Essentials running and I also have Speedy Pro PC loaded but not as startup.

Has anyone run into this?

All assistance is appreciated.

Help Recover Deleted Partition

Win7 64-bit w/ 8 Gbytes DDR800 RAM

My old System Drive is now being used as a Data Storage drive (D:) and I accidentally (somehow) deleted the partition, so now the D: drive shows as "RAW".

GetDataBack sees all the data, but I cannot figure out how to get GDB to simply restore the deleted partition. And there's too much data to recover to simply copy it over, and too much trouble too.

Easeus Partition Master does not see the missing partition. It gives me several options, but the largest partition it sees is only 40 Gbytes on a partition that was 320 Gbytes.

So, my problem is GDB sees the data, but won't restore the partition, and Easeus doesn't see the partition. Am I not seeing some kind of partition restoring feature of GDB? Is there another software I should be using?
