Hi - appreciate any help. Usually can find an answer on the web but I have had no luck. Attempting to fix a friends pc after I was told they cannot get on to web via IE or Chrome. When booting into Safe Mode - can access internet. Have ran MalWare removal and some rootkit removal tools but still no luck. Apps like Office work....have reset all settings in Chrome and IE. Any thoughts? thanks in advance...

Laptop won't shut down
Hello guys!
I've got a problem with my Asus laptop. When I try to shut it down,after a while only the display turns off, while the laptop stays on forever (I can hear the sound of it working and the light which shows the state of the computer is green). It looks as if it were asked to sleep,except that I can't turn it on; all I can do is keep the power button pressed so I turn it off forcedly.
This also happened 2 months ago and there's something common between the 2 situations. This error occured right after I performed a clean with CCleaner. I've just uninstalled CCleaner but the problem won't disappear.
If you could help me,I'd me very grateful. Thanks in advance!

Browsers & other programs won't work
So my friend says he dropped his laptop the other day, and since then his browsers (IE, Chrome) won't even open anymore. They always show the same message:
EDIT. Windows Update can download and update, also Popcorn time can download and view the movie. (So the internet works)

I now have W7, running DOSBOX and Windows XP.

Windows Firewall won't turn on

I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit, when i try to turn on Windows Firewall it says 'Security Center can't turn on Windows Firewall'.
I was using Norton 360 before and the firewall in that was working fine.

No Bootable Device after Laptop Fall
I dropped my laptop (an acer Aspire E1-572). It worked for about 10 minutes, until the screen froze and went black. I removed the battery, reinserted it, and rebooted. After the ACER screen was up,the message

When I add a series of numbers in a column (in Excel) I go to the lower right hand corner of the desk top and it will show "Average " and "Sum". When I click on Sum it will show the total, but how can I transfer that total figure to the spread sheet?

Windows Essentials
i'm trying to uninstall all versions of Windows Live Essentials, so that I can install Windows Essentials 2009 which allows forwarding of embedded photos in emails. I have already uninstalled Windows Essentials 2012. No other Windows Essentials programs are listed in my installed programs directory. However every time I try to install Windows Essentials 2009, I get an error message that tells me that Essentials 2009 cannot be installed because a later version is already installed. But, as I already said no versions show up in my istalled program directory. How do I get rid of all versions so that I can reinstall Windows Live Essentials 2009.

OneDrive Unistall Windows 7
Hello,
I installed OneDrive in Windows 7 and shared with me all My Documents.
OneDrive is full and I want to uninstall it to clear the content.
Could you please let me know if by uninstalling OneDrive I would also be risking deleting my original PC files in Documents or are they safe ?

Lexar (E:) backup
On the 1st August I changed my Win 7 32bit to Win 10 trial . I got a Lexar 32 GB USB to use as my backup drive Which I used on the 15th August (win 10) with no troubles. Since going to Windows 10 I lost my Sound, tried several means to retrieve all unsuccessful . I went back to Win7 and now I want to backup my win 7. I presume I will have to delete my win 10 backup and then backup my win 7 files. Is it straight forward ? and with future backups does it entail deleting the previous backup. I presume it would be easier to get another 32 GB USB and use alternatively.

Where are the game save files for BlueStacks?
My bluestacks is broken. Everytime I clicked the program, it says Bluestacks app runner has stopped working.
So I want to reinstall the whole thing back but I'm afraid my game save files would be deleted too. I also tried everything in the installation folder to open/repair/update Bluestacks but nothing worked.
So what I was thinking to do is manually search for the save files and copy it,
then I will reinstall the whole program and put back the save files. Or is there another way?

An active directory domain controller for the domain could not be contacted
Hello everyone,
So on my work laptop yesterday i got disconnected from the network, and upon trying to reconnect i had internet access but no network access, ran through some diag, was able to ping my other work station, ip,dns and dg where all fine, checked for dns records issue, none found. so i removed it from the domain and tried re-adding it, and this is where the problem is no matter what i do i cannot add this laptop on the domain. i get full internet access on the network but no network access. i know the Dns server is functioning perfectly and cant be the issue, i have also flushed dns, rebuilt tcp/Ip stack and removed all lan and wlan profiles. i am also getting a certificate error when trying to access the network on wlan.
Using my local admin here are some print screens of first the issue when trying to add the laptop back to the domain, then Ping results to my DNS server .
after removing the machine from the domain it now no longer picking up the correct DNS server.
Would assigning a new DNS record resolve the issue???

The error was: "DNS name does not exist."

Error 1327 Invalid drive Q:\
Win 7. Started by having trouble with Excel 2010 so decided to uninstall Office 2010 using IOBit. During deep cleaning cycle removal the program froze and I had to close it. Office appeared to be gone, but then the error appeared - every time I open ANY program including Chrome. It usually appears twice and must be cancelled and then the program will load. I was able to re-install Office but of course the annoying error appears when opening those programs too.
I have tried every cure I could find on the internet up to now including looking for Q in a bunch of registry areas and some cmd prompts to remove or repace Q. Cannot find Q in the registry and the cmd prompt alway say no such drive exists. Need a different approach, can you help?

Ok, well i have tried everything.
What happened when i tried different things.
1. i downloaded things to the usb, well i couldnt run them as they dont automatically start from it, so that option quickly failed.
2. i tried opening the .txt file at the end of a failed startup recovery, my error report didnt have the .txt file or anything of the sort so i couldnt open it to fix the issue nor could i use it to run CMD
3. i tried flat out factory restoring it, it asked for my password which i dont have...
4. i even tried launching in safe mode with command prompt and it again asked for my password
so, pretty much ive tried using this computer to put things on a flash drive that did not help, ive tried other methods of basically hacking and or bypassing it and those did not work either.
any help would be greatly appreciated...

32 Bit vs 64 bit

My PC is Intel core I3 with CPU @3,30 GHz. For the OS, I'm using Windows 7 SP1. So since nowadays game start demanding OS that running in 64 bit, I was checking my version of windows. After checking, I realize that I'm using a 32 bit version of windows 7. I also checking my cpu architecture that said my CPU system is 32 bit system.
My friend insist that although my CPU architecture is 32 bit, It could be installed with a 64 bit version of Windows 7. He actually a little expert in PC architecture. But I don't believe him entirely. So before I purchased a 64 bit version of windows, I would like to confirm first if it's true that Intel Core I3 that running in 32 bit system could be installed with 64 bit version of windows 7?

Suddenly lost files
Earlier today, while I was using I was so shocked when I couldn't find a certain application (SynciOS). When I couldn't find it, I checked in the start menu and every time I opened it, applications were disappearing one by one. So I decided to restart and all my desktop icons were gone (Save the Recycle Bin and My Computer).
I checked all the partitions and found out that only the C partition was affected; D and E were untouched.
Google Chrome, which was in the C partition, was also gone but the history remains but the bookmarks are gone. MS Office applications were also gone but they were automatically redownloaded.
The sticky notes that were in my desktop remained, though.
I have not setup a system restore point so I couldn't possibly use that.
Any idea as to what happened?
