I get this message now and again in email. Just happened whilst trying to follow pages from E&T Magazine.
The message comes up then after a few seconds W7 charges off looking for a solution, never finds one!
All the time the page is locked and I usually have to go into Task Manager to clear things.
Is this "my end"? Their end? A problem with IE11 or W7? My ISP is Talk Talk but I use a BT email account.
(BTW, I have swapped one of 4 computers to W10. Bloody awful!)

About 2 weeks ago, I started noticing the M$ update shield with the '!' in it appearing on the Shut down button. If I run Windows Update, it says I'm up to date. The shield nonetheless stays there all the time.
I've run a full Avast scan and a Malwarebytes scan. Neither comes up with any malware.
Figuring that something I downloaded might be causing the problem, I thought I'd try system restore. First tried a restore point WAY back -- October 6. System went thru the usual churning, but when it tried to reboot, came up with a window saying the system could not be started, and attempted (for 3-4 minutes) to repair the system. That failed, so I hit the power button, waited 30 sec., hit power button again. System booted perfectly. . .BUT not a single program had been deleted or changed. I was back to the system before running system restore.
Tried system restore from 2 other points, the last one only 2 weeks old. In both cases, same result. Restore fails, Win 7 attempts repair, that fails, hit power button, turn computer back on and system is exactly the way it was before doing the restores.
Anybody have any idea what's wrong?

So, I just installed windows 7 on my new SSD. There are only the drivers and windows 7 on the SSD. On every start I get the error "Desktop Window Manager has stopped working". There are a lot of solutions mentioned in other forums, aswell in this one, but none of them works. I'll just list what I've tried so far, I'm really getting desperate:
-windowskey+r ->services.msc->restart Desktop Window Manager
-starting cmd as adminstrator -> sfc /scannow -> no problems found, nothing repaired
-rightclick on the SSD -> properties -> tools -> verify -> no problems found, nothing repaired
-updated graphic driver to latest version

Have an HP Pavillion - 6 yrs old, Win 7, 8GB RAM, plenty of HD, connected via WiFi. For almost 2 yrs now all S/W loads slowly. It takes Firefox or Thunderbird 5-8 seconds to load, other S/W that doesn't touch I-Net (Office, Notepad, Calc) also loads slowly. Surfing is a problem. Sometimes the WiFi signal drops. No problems with my desktop communicating with the router - just the laptop. No AV running to slow things down although it feels like 5 AV programs are running at same time. I finally got to the point where I saved data and reloaded Win 7, then installed FF and TB. Laptop loads a little faster, but is still slow.
Something is causing a bottleneck. Task Mgr doesn't finger anything specific and the Memory or CPU doesn't max out when a program loads. Could it be my WiFi adaptor? Can the H/W be outdated in 6 yrs? I am puzzled and would like to find a better solution than purchasing a new laptop since this one is primarily used for surfing and email.

Trying to watch RTE on my laptop (irish tv channel ) .Getting a message saying I need to disable ad blocker..Went into tools ,internet options/privacy /turn off pop up blocker but still no joy..any ideas?...thanks
Did have GT soft ad blocker but uninstalled it and cant think what else I could do?..

Hello all, I found a few threads on this forum with the same problem, but none of the solutions recommended helped me. I'm not sure if my posting a new thread will help, but since I received a different message than the other threads, I figured I'd give it a shot.
My computer screen just went black while I was listening to music and doing some work. I powered off and restarted my computer but it would not boot up. It went form Starting Windows screen to a black screen. I inserted my Windows 7 install disk and tried to repair, but it didn't work and I got this message:

Hi all. Really needing some help here with disabling the Sony Vaio Care Repair (SVC Repair). Every time I try to turn off the computer, it always comes back on in about 3 seconds and goes straight to the SVC Repair screen. I have rebooted to the Out-Of-Box (OOB) settings and updated all WIN and Sony updates. I have now taken it back to OOB settings. I have found the thread on this forum,
How do I de-activate 'Vaio Care Rescue' at start-up? (

Hi,
I am unable to access internet using my Dell XPS notebook. I did not have this issue since a couple of days ago. I believe it may be malware related, as my Malwarebytes alerted me on an issue, that it has found issues and wanted me to restart the notebook.
I was able to restart, and run a full scan using both Malwarebytes and Microsoft Security Essentials. It was not able to find any further issues virus or malware, but then I lost my internet connection. I worked with my internet provider (Cox), and did these for several hours but they were unable to resolve the issue.
I was looking for possible solutions on-line, and saw the post here for 'Fix Internet Connection after Malware Removal'. It is very well drafted, and the first part of the solution was similar to a lot of the steps I followed with Cox in diagnosis of the issue. I run the reset.bat again but it also did not help. The second step, using Farbar service scanner, was new and I was hopeful this is the fix. however, after running the scanner, file check did not find any missing drivers. Everything was digitally signed.
The Connection Status also seems like the same issue I have:
Localhost is accessible.
LAN connected.
Google IP is accessible.
Attempt to access Google.com returned error: Other errors
Attempt to access Yahoo.com returned error: Other errors
I am not sure not what my next step should be. Can you please guide me to an article that I can follow to continue working this issue? Or please assist in working this issue. I have a planned trip in a couple of weeks and urgently need to have access to internet again on said notebook.

I want to clean up my DeskTop. Question : If IDELETE the shortcuts in the Recycle Bin, would I, later on, still be able to put another

Hi everybody :
I'm having a problem with my System. I'm running Windows 7 Professional / 32-bit. Lately, I've been getting numerous BSODs. Most of them say "Bad_Pool_Header. On the latest one, I didn't notice any specific problem stated. To see if it's hardware or software, I'm thinking about doing a rebuild on my System (re-installing the Operating System). One question I have is....can I copy an entire folder to an external drive ? On the Propeties of my external drive it states : " 3.39 GB used.......928Gb Free". The Properties for the Pictures Folder states : "Size of files in Library---19.1Gb". So I figure the Folder SHOULD fit. But, can I do it in "one go". Or would / should I do it in parts ?

I just did a rebuild of my Windows 7 Professional / 32-bit System. I'm trying to find the most update driver for my NVidia GeForce GT 610 card. Question : Do I have to go into BIOS and manually switch the from the onboard video to the card ? I have a Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H Motherboard.

keep checking with sites like
Open Port Check Tool - Test Port Forwarding on Your Router
to see if they get open or stay closed,
i've tried adding inbounds/outbounds, dissable all firewalls, connect the computer directly to the internet without any router or switch btw,
tried port forwarding, different sets of routers,
Asus RT-N66U & D-link GO-RT-AC750,
tried talking to my ISPn, and the support at Asus & D-link without any result,
tried 4 different computers an the only port that seems to want to show up as open is port 80 when i use the Asus router,
this has started to drain my energy and making me quite frustrated that nothing seem to happen so i hope there's anyone with any better idea's then mine that might slove this?

Hello,
I am trying to get rid of the windows 10 update icon in the corner. I was able to successfully get it off one computer with windows 7 with just uninstalling update KB3035583. (this is what a google search led me to)However on another computer with windows 7, I did the same thing, but it won't go away. The other computer is a dell inspiron i3 processor 4 gig ram Windows 7 64 bit sp1. If I click it after installing the update it's like I didn't even uninstall the update. Why would it work on one computer and not the other. Thanks

When I attempt to start my PC, it loads the "starting windows" screen then switches to a BLUE screen which is too fast to read, then proceeds to lead me to the START UP REPAIR which cannot automatically repair my computer.

My desktop PC, Windows 7 64 bit. My current security updates will NOT update. I've tried doing one at a time that doesn't seem to work. I haven't downloaded out of the ordinary recently, so I dont know whats going on. Any suggestions?

Hi, a little background to my problem. On October 30th, it was requested of me that I make new e-mail accounts for our system. In order to do so, I needed to remove some of the old user accounts as our e-mail protection system is only registered for 30 users/e-mails.
Long story short, I made a list of accounts not in use and ran it by the department leads and deleted the accounts that were approved for deletion.
When I removed the user accounts, I went through the SBS console, but told the system not to delete the mailbox.
Now, a little over a month later, the sales lead has come to me asking for one of the mailboxes to be attached to one of the current accounts as they've realized that they need some of the contacts in the mailbox.
I looked in disconnected mailboxes under the exchange console and I can't find it there, which makes me believe that it was deleted. :banghead:
I need to know how I would go about doing a recovery for that mailbox in order to attach it to an existing mailbox. Or if there's anything at all I can do.

Hi everybody :
I've been looking at some hardware for my computer...as spare parts. I need some advice. I have a Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H Motherboard, that uses an Intel Core i3 processor LGA 1155 , Corsair 2Gb (takes two chips) DDR3 PC10600 1333Mhz. I purchased all this around the same time.....July 2013. The computer is still functioning okay (a few "bumps" here and there). Usually, under, at least, fair conditions, how long SHOULD the memory last? Before it goes bad ? And the same question for the processor ? I'd like to be able to get some spare parts, just in case. In a last case scenario, I would probably have to do it all over again.......the MOBO, Processor and memory.
