So, i have this weird problem with my Windows 7 Pro. 64Bit laptop, recently hibernate has started playing up.
Often when i try to hibernate instead it just locks the screen.
Diagnosing with task manager, it seems to happen at a variable level, but when memory usage is over somewhere between 4-6 GB - annoying when my typical workspace ends up at 5-6GB used.
If i run shutdown -h in the command prompt i get an Insufficient space error(8) - excuse the wording not being exact, until it 'randomly' happens again for me to copy.
Closing applications will solve it - if enough are closed, but that very much defies the point of hibernating, if i have to close things anyway.
Yet C: has plenty of space ~258GB free for a 8GB memory machine.
only other drive is D: and that also has over 50GB free, and shouldn't be an concern since it's a different OS.
I did a bit of digging and found that the hiberfil.sys is only 75% by default - so i set it to 100%, but this didn't help.
Anyone have any ideas? i've been in IT a while, and never seen this issue before, and have been unable to find a fix on google(Even found it very hard to so much as get pertinent results)
