I apologise in advance if this is the wrong thread. I'm not tech savvy.
Hello. I wanted to ask for some advice. I'm having problems with a submission page on an art website I frequent, deviantart dot com. You know the type -you post images via a submission page which opens up when you click the SUBMIT button; you upload your image from your desktop, bob's your uncle.
However recently, the page does not work for me: When I click the submit button at the top of the page, I am taken to a completely blank page. It looks rather like this:
I use an adblocker on chrome, so there is nothing but a white space. But on Firefox, or IE, I see adverts on the page, as pictured above.
My first step was to contact the website's help-desk. They informed me that they do
not serve ads on their submission pages, and thus this problem was likely not on their end...They suggested I may have a virus (?) and that I should check the HTML (???) to see if I can figure out where the problem adverts are coming from. I have no idea what this entails.
So fas as I'm aware, this is not happening on any other websites that require submission of this nature: photobucket, twitter, google images, all work fine on all browsers. But the deviantart bug persists. I can only image they've done something their end that is confusing my computer or, perhaps, I do have a virus of some kind? I wouldn't know. I've tried reinstalling chrome, tried changing my password, everything. Nothing seems to fix it.
Occasionally the page will work for long enough for me to submit something, but this is once in every twenty or thirty refreshes every couple of days.
Weeks later and my problem persists. I'm sorry if this is the wrong place, but I am absolutely at a loss. I lack the technical know-how to follow the advice I was given. I do not know how to read HTML and am unclear on who I should contact or what I should do regarding this issue.
I would appreciate some advice (in layman's terms, preferably) on how to fix this problem, or who I CAN ask to fix it, I am kind of going out of my mind here.
