Trouble With Submission Page on Art Website - Virus?

$

I apologise in advance if this is the wrong thread. I'm not tech savvy.

Hello. I wanted to ask for some advice. I'm having problems with a submission page on an art website I frequent, deviantart dot com. You know the type -you post images via a submission page which opens up when you click the SUBMIT button; you upload your image from your desktop, bob's your uncle.

However recently, the page does not work for me: When I click the submit button at the top of the page, I am taken to a completely blank page. It looks rather like this:

I use an adblocker on chrome, so there is nothing but a white space. But on Firefox, or IE, I see adverts on the page, as pictured above.

My first step was to contact the website's help-desk. They informed me that they do not serve ads on their submission pages, and thus this problem was likely not on their end...They suggested I may have a virus (?) and that I should check the HTML (???) to see if I can figure out where the problem adverts are coming from. I have no idea what this entails.

So fas as I'm aware, this is not happening on any other websites that require submission of this nature: photobucket, twitter, google images, all work fine on all browsers. But the deviantart bug persists. I can only image they've done something their end that is confusing my computer or, perhaps, I do have a virus of some kind? I wouldn't know. I've tried reinstalling chrome, tried changing my password, everything. Nothing seems to fix it.

Occasionally the page will work for long enough for me to submit something, but this is once in every twenty or thirty refreshes every couple of days.

Weeks later and my problem persists. I'm sorry if this is the wrong place, but I am absolutely at a loss. I lack the technical know-how to follow the advice I was given. I do not know how to read HTML and am unclear on who I should contact or what I should do regarding this issue.

I would appreciate some advice (in layman's terms, preferably) on how to fix this problem, or who I CAN ask to fix it, I am kind of going out of my mind here.

Proxy Error - "Proxy does not respond"

Hello

I am having a major proxy problem that occurs rarely but I was never able to solve unless by formatting the User PC.

I am working in a big international Organization, with proprietary Windows 7, connected to Active directory.
Many networks are connected to provide all the necessary services to all users in all countries.

One user PC is connected to the network and everything works except Webpages.
Internet Explorer tells me the proxy does not respond (Same with Firefox).

I think the proxy should be "ncproxy:8080" but IE11 allways goes for "ncproxy2:8080".

I don't know if the PAC file is properly accessed or updated. (address is correct).
I don't know if the proxy is the correct one. (The PAC file should update that i think)
I don't know if IE is updating the proxy based on the location.

I tried to us a script but no success:
Code:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings]
"AutoConfigURL"="http://ieconfig.sig.ORGANIZATIONNAME/proxy.pac"

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Connections]
"DefaultConnectionSettings"=hex:16,00,00,00,05,02,00,00,0d,00,00,00,0e,00,00,\
  00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00
"SavedLegacySettings"=hex:36,00,00,00,46,1a,00,00,0d,00,00,00,0e,00,00,00,32,\
  00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00

My question is: How to make sure i reset all configurations for proxy settings or how to verify step by step wich what is happening and what is not (if by any chance i was correct in my logic).

Best regards
Thank you

Vista Blue Screen on Startup Loop

I have a desktop computer with Vista installed that I only use to play the Sims 1 (I know it sounds lame, but bear with me here).

Admittedly, I recently shut down my computer incorrectly (was so tired I just turned off the power strip it was plugged into), and ever since I have been stuck in this blue screen on startup loop. I can start in Safe Mode without encountering the blue screen, but that's about it.

I've tried Googling this problem, but none of the common solutions are working.
So, before you reply to this thread:

1. Yes, I have attempted a system restore. It cannot complete the system restore and it gives me an error message along the lines of "cyclic redundancy check error". I checked/repaired the disc with the command prompt, but still get the same error when trying a system restore.

2. Yes, I have attempted to use Startup Repair with my OS disc. Startup Repair either tells me it cannot solve the problem, or it tells me there is no problem.

3. "Last Known Good Configuration" on startup results in the same blue screen.

I am hoping someone has a new solution for me to try, because on most forums I have seen where people have the same problem... people just reply with "UM HAVE YOU TRIED A SYSTEM RESTORE????". Like, you think I haven't tried that?!

I am not sure if this blue screen is the result of my lazy shut down, or if that just happens to be a coincidence in timing.
Please do not suggest that I should just backup my data and reinstall the OS unless you are absolutely sure there are no other options. Installing The Sims 1 in its entirety was a ***** (I would install all the expansions and then it would fail and make me start over from the beginning every time I made it to the final expansion) that took many days of frustration and I will do absolutely anything to keep from having to do that again.

Mouse works great except on banking software page.

I can go to any website and click on a button or link and it goes to that site. Now if I go to my banks website I can enter my name and password and then click on the 'log on' button and it will take me to the next page. Then if I click on something it will indicate I clicked by the button (or option) showing that you clicked on it, but nothing will happen. The rotating internet globe or whatever you call it will do nothing. I ran chkdsk, restored all the settings to their default, ran Norton Anti-Virus and Ccleaner and nothing helps. I talked to the bank and they never heard of anyone having this problem. All research I have done by Googling brings up people that have no mouse click response on any page or so but not on one page. Looking over the web, I noticed that banks seem to be running some petty buggy software, even the big banks. Thanks for your help.

I am using FF 45.0.1. I have a solid state HD. I use MSE anti virus and MWBytes

I have noticed in the last couple weeks my computer has slowed waaaay down. Example before I logged in here I had FF open and clicked a bookmark (I do not save history) before the page came up I disconnected the internet cable. more than a second later the page came up on the browser window! So it must have been loaded in the machine what was going on holding it up?
The fan has been running a lot especially since I started using FB recently. I am doing a people search and they are one of the places one must use.
When I use FB I open a new browser window allow the two scripts necessary, log in do what I do then log out and close the browser. If I get a problem logging in I close the browser and start over. On a regular basis I get to the point of having logged in but the login stays stuck on that page and does not go through. In this case I close the browser and follow the stated log in procedure. ???????
I know it may sound off but my sense is that something that was not there before I started using FB daily is doing this. Yesterday I did an ESET online scan which turned up nothing.

Using W7 as Remote Desktop "Host"

$

Hey!

Among my clients there are mostly Public Administrations. They don't have sufficient money to invest in a decent IT solutions (that's why they chose me ).

Usually there is a server with VMware ESXi installed and a Windows Server or Linux based VM where the software and the database is stored. Users have their computers where the software are installed and they run it connecting to the database stored in the server.

Since there is no Domain and I can't directly control the computers, I am thinking to install Windows 7 Ultimate on VMware and create the users, so they can connect to W7 via Remote Desktop. They can be standard users. I can also connect the machine to a Public IP so they can access outside the office.

I know that I have to unlock the Remote Desktop sessions, since W7 allows only 2 users to connect at the same time, but I think the procedure is legal since I found it on Microsoft Forums.

The server can allow mutiple connections, since the network is in good condition, there is a lot of free RAM and CPU usage is very low at the moment. There are from 10 to 15 users.

What do you think of this solution? Do you have any experience?

Triple monitor display

Hi,

I have had a setup with three 24-inch screens in two years. They are set for the mini display, hdmi and dvi in my Radeon HD 7000 Series. It has worked perfectly.
When I upgrade to win10 I could no longer use three screens, but only two. All three screens still worked, I could just only have two monitors active at the same time.

I went back to win7 and everything worked perfectly again.
Now I have formatted my pc and reinstalled win7 but and i experience the exact same problem as I did when I installed win10. Understand me right, I can use all three screens, but only two active at the same time.
Windows will not let me extend to the 3rd screen and writes only "display settings were not saved"

AMD driver is the latest and writes to me do a screen passive before I can activate another.

Anyone have an idea what I can try? has become rather desperate.

Can anyone give me an understandable step by step instruction on how to use WSUS? I've tried several times to get an ISO for Windows 7 updates without
success. Nothing I've found on the internet (including Microsoft) seems to be the right directions.

Installing Windows 7

I am still running XP. I have a complete Windows 7 Professional Install disk. What I would like to do is install the Windows 7 on a new hardrive but still maintain access to my XP operating system while I migrate all of my software and data to the windows 7 system. How do I proceed, I assume do the clean install on a new hard drive, should I disconnect the XP system drive while I do this? What is the process afterwards, can I reconnect the XP drive with no issues or concerns, how can I choose/select which system I wish to boot to....Anything else I should know or be concerned about? Thank you in advance for any advice or council in this regard?

Win 7 Pro temp files

Trying to clean up the OS HD a little. Is it okay to delete the temp files in the following path?

Users\DaveXPS2\Appdata\local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet files.

There are a whole bunch of them in there. If someone could give me whatever paths I need to get rid of junk on the drive I would appreciate it. I hate to just delete a lot of stuff that I don't know what windows needs it for. I am assuming (I know dangerous to assume.) that temp files are just that, needed once but not forever.

Thanks

MSN mail (pay version)

$

I have been a paid subscriber to MSN for many years. MSN uses a version of IE.

My e-mail XXXX@msn.com quite often hangs up the whole MSN browser and has to be exited and restarted. This is a PIA when in the middle of composing an e-mail. Currently using version 11.50 of MSN. Win 7 Pro.

I ran the MS fix it tool for IE but that has not helped. IE version is 11, installed separately from the MSN browser.

I can say with certainty that the first time I log on to MSN each day the browser/e-mail will hang within 2-3 min. Afterwards it is random.

It is not unusual for the MSN browser to hang and shut down when using just the browser but not necessarily the e-mail. E-mail is the worst however.

If I open IE and log on to outlook there are no problems with the e-mail.

Any ideas here? I did remove and re-install MSN to no avail.

Windows 7 Crash on Loading screen

$

Hi. I have a real old, well still came built in with Windows 7. I started having a problem where the Windows crashes on the Loading screen(Screen where 4 lights come and form the Logo) *sometimes*, I had to restart several times to make through the crash. Over time the possibility of crashing increases and made it almost impossible to get through it. I sent it to repair and the guy said Windows 7 is not working and install Windows XP.

XP is running without any problem. But many recent programs and games doesn't support the OS (mostly the directx version, which is dx9). So I tried reinstalling Windows 7. On the installation Boot screen, a "Windows files are loading" message with a white loading bar appeared on the bottom and after the load the Windows Loading screen appeared... again it crashed! It was only loading the Windows installation setup even that wont work.

I really need to know whats going on here. Laptop is Compaq 420. Please tell me if there are fix for this.
