USB ports are not picking up anything

$

Hello there

so for course related reasons, I was to upgrade my windows 7 premium to Windows 10. Of course as windows 7 doesn't have the option to mount windows 10 I had to use a USB/DVD installer tool. Now the installation to my windows failed and so it restored windows 7 "as it was before the installation". There is only one problem with that however as now USB ports are not picking up on anything I plug into them.I have tried to update my drivers and still nothing. anyone had that problem and is able to fix it?

Scam caller locked out computer

An elderly relative still using Vista thought he was phoning Norton after noticing they had taken payment for another year. The person he spoke to convinced him to let him have remote access so he could arrange a refund (I know - stupid old git), eventually my relative realised and terminated the call and shut down his PC but when he re-started he is now presented with a password screen.
Is there a way to get round this and/or remove it please?

3 different issues I can't seem to fix

The first issue I encountered was sometimes when watching videos or streams from various sites my computer turns off, not like a shut down but as if someone held the power button down for 5 seconds, it just shuts off entirely. My friend said it was likely an issue with power supply but when he came over to lend me one of his sticks of RAM (Something I had wanted since before the issues) it seemed to fix the issue for about 2 days, now the issue is back but it's not as bad, it only happens during streams and some videos. He also said if it was a power supply issue getting more RAM would likely make it worse.

Anyways as for the other two, Skype says "api ms win crt runtime 1-1-0.dll" is missing and won't start because of this. I reinstalled skype but that didn't work so I looked it up and seems it's part of the operating system(?) anyways my next thought was to use system restore but this is where I encountered the third and final issue I am having.

Whenever I have tried to use system restore, or reset my computer to factory settings and such (basically any of those menus that you can get to by pressing buttons during start up) it gives me less than a minute before it stops showing on my monitor, the computer is still on according to the glowing orange power button but it doesn't show up on the monitor. I've yet to have this monitor issue elsewhere, it stays connected whenever I am doing anything else.

I plan to get a new computer in a few months, mine is fairly old, but I do need it to last 3-4 more months so I at least wanna get the skype issue fixed. I can probably live with being unable to see my monitor during start up extra menus if I can just get the other two fixed.

Desktop computer underperforming and other issues

After my most recent Windows 7 re-install, my pc has been slow and weird.
(I should note that I don't think it necessarily has anything to do with the Windows re-install, it seemed slow before that, but I guess I have just noticed it more after) When I was reinstalling windows, I had issues with drivers, so perhaps that could have something to do with it.. I have tried to update my graphics driver using GeForce Experience, but it made no difference.

The PC takes a very long time, 10 or so minutes, before it has fully started up and is properly usable.
Games are running slower than they used to, and the fps in games jump up and down a lot, so very unstable fps, which makes it difficult to play some games.

The computer was bought pre-built from a reputable Danish company called Sharkgaming who builds PCs and other stuff. The PC is just over 2 years old.

According to the company I bought it from, the specs are: Company PC Specs - Pastebin.com

I saw on a different thread somebody with a similar issue, he was recommended to run a harddrive test, which I have also done, to try and provide as much info as quickly as possible.

Some other issues I have are:
Mouse stops working
Once in a while, every few days perhaps, the mouse will freeze for a second, where you can't move the mouse or click, if you do that, it will make a short beep sound through my headset, not the PC itself. After the freeze, you can move the mouse, but you cannot click, because it still just beeps if you click. If you click once quickly, it wil say beep twice. If you press down a button on the mouse, it will say one beep, and once you let go of the button, it will say beep again. Scrolling also makes it beep once per scroll.
When this happens, it's only the mouse that doesn't work properly. I can use my keyboard to navigate through tabs using alt and shift, programs that are running work just fine, just the mouse that wont click and just beeps.
This usually happens when the pc

"Screen tear"
At all times, if I move a window around on my screen, there will be a sort of screen tear behind it. I have tried to record it so you can see what I am talking about: https://i.gyazo.com/f8831cb48a4aa1cf...a325f546b7.mp4

Any help is appreciated.
If there's any more info or tests that would help, let me know and I will try to do/provide it.

MSASN1.dll

Hi,
All of a sudden my computer gave me an error message saying MSASN1.dll is missing and it forbade me of starting basically anything beside OpenOffice. I could not start AVG, nor Firefox, nor Steam. Needless to say, I am not writing this thread on my home computer.
Browsing through older threads I see some other users have had this problem and have managed to solve it somehow. Alas, in none of the threads found they had Win 7 but some older build of Windows.
What should I do now? As said, I found it impossible to access internet from my computer because both Firefox and Chrome refused to start because of the missing or allegedly missing MSASN1.dll. I also ran Checkdisk utility but it changed nothing. Any advice?

MOBO has 4 slots of sata.

I have only win7 original. I dont have ubuntu or linux.

after i got this, i put ubuntu live usb and i selected try ubuntu and when i was on that os, i could see my 3 drives. So there seems no problem for hdd as i guess.

When I alt tab, this always seems to happen and sticks for like 5-10 seconds. It is super annoying and I have no idea why. My comp isn't under heavy strain or anything the CPU usage is at like 10-15% and physical memory 40%.

Installed on desktop with hardware upgraded in the last 12 mths.
CPU: Intel Core i5-6400 @ 2.70 GHz
Onboard graphics & sound card
MB: MSI B150M PRO-VDH ( ms-7982)
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO- 250GB

Recently did a clean install of Win 7 Home Premium on my desktop, followed by install of SP1 & all updates. System is running fine except I get BSOD when going into sleep mode. Tried update reinstall of OS to no avail.
Tried to make a start on BSOD posting- Norton is not allowing me to run the Sysnative app, saying it is unsafe?
Turned off firewall but made not difference. Any ideas please?

RealVNC blues

Hi,

I hope that this is the right forum to post my issue.

On a 32b machine running windows7 I installed RealVNC, both the viewer and server. The viewer works just fine, however I cannot access the server from any machine in my local network (192.168.2.xxx). The problem is that in the client machine it times out without giving me any message. The windows firewall in the server machine already is set up to allow the exception for realvnc server . Pinging on this server machine returns the packets properly. I'm also running the free edition of Avast. I tried disabling the shielding on Avast and the situation didn't change. However when I disabled the windows firewall, it comes back immediately with the message "connection refused" or something like that.

In the past, I had RealVNC running on a XP machine and it worked just fine. Can someone suggest something to help me?

Many thanks in advance.

Daniel

Hello guys

But next time I tried to save to the same disk a message says ' You cant save here. Please choose another location'.

Any advice please.

Wireless Connection Issues

Ok, so I have a question and need some assistance with my internet connection...

So I have a Windows 7, 64 bit operating system and my network card is a TL-WN881ND and I've recently moved into an apartment where all the walls are bricked... at first I thought it was a connection issue although all of my other devices are connecting just fine.

My computer is a max 10m away and I can see the modem with a direct line of site where I sit at my computer...

Modem: Huawei HG532
Provider: TPG
Service: ADSL2+

So I suppose my question is, what troubleshooting can I do to get a better signal, at the moment my connection is 1-2 bars and at my previous house I was getting full connection.

Only thing that has changed is:
1: the modem and provider
2: there's now double bricked walls.

Is it the modem, or the network card or another issue altogether?

I have searched forums and tried DBCoopers post on updating win7 however when I try to run first patch (KB3020369) which I downloaded from MS I get an error "Installer encountered an error:0x80080005". I even tried opening from website and got same error.
