Greetings,

An IT staff at a company where I have been working seems to be unable (or lazy enough) to install an English Language Pack on a French Version (a base installation) of Windows 7 Enterprise via Windows Updates.

When launching the update with English Language Pack selected all seems to work well til a certain moment of an installation.
The process is stopped with an error message and the update is not applied.

I cannot believe that the IT technician keeps assuring me that the operation is impossible to achieve.

I would appreciate any suggestion or advice leading me to manage to get the English Language Pack installed.

Very recently I have been socked with at least three BSODs with these
error messages:

I_R_Q_L Not_Less_Than_Equal...(twice)

System_Services_Exceptions...(once)

I ran the diagnostic Memtest 86 yesterday and found no errors
with my memory.

I also ran an HD diagnostic and found no HD errors (Drive C: is solid state)

Can this Forum accommodate the attachment of a memory-dump collector
like DM Log Collector? (The saved log file can be up to 2 Mg, which may make it a problem), to analyze recent memory dumps?

I'm running under Win 7 Pro, BTW.

hello! this afternoon i turned on my computer and my mouse wasnt working properly. it still clicks but cursor wont move.
i tried plugging in a spare mouse i had but the problem continued, so no, they're not broken.
i tried unninstaling mouse drivers but it was no use.
its worth mentioning i have a wacom intuos and used it right before i turned the computer off this morning.

Hey,

I want to apologize in advance for my english since it is not my native language.

I was surfing on Youtube yesterday and suddenly as if someone had unplugged my PC from the Power supply, it shutdown. Now if I try to turn it back on, nothing happens. No noise, no light, nothing. I had this problem like 2 years ago too. I took my old PSU out and tried the trick with the paper clip and the green pin and the fan didn't turn on, so I bought a new PSU and my PC worked again. This time I tried it again but my fan works this time so I don't know if it is my PSU again. I don't have a voltmeter or a spare PSU/Mainboard/etc... so it's hard to determine the cause.

I have
Windows 7 ultimate
Mainboard : as Rock z68 extreme3 gen3 (6 years old)
Graka:radeon HD 6870 (6 years old)
PSU:energon eps-750 w (2 years old)

My Windows 7 machine bluescreened unexpectedly. I have no idea why.

Does it look like I need to restore the OS drive from image backup, or does it appear that things should be okay? (Mission-critical business machine. Most recent image backup is about a month old. Data is on a different drive.)

The file in the title is a major problem with Windows Live Mail (WLM) 2012. When you go to a website that has an email link, and click the email address, you get a message that WLDCore.dll is missing. The fix is to copy that file AND WLDLog.dll to other folders associated with Windows Live. After I do that, the link works. . . ONCE!!! Next time I try the same thing on any site, I get the same "missing" error message. And sure enough, WLDLog.dll (but not Core) has disappeared from the folders I copied it to.

Something in the Windows 7 or WLM systems apparently deletes the log file at some point after it was used. I've tried making the files undeletable, but it also makes them inaccessable, so I get a different error message, but the result is the same; I cannot use the email link.

Anybody know how to make these two files undeletable BUT accessible?

I have been downloading videos from you tube for a while with freemake onto my computer and they have worked flawlessly. Now I find that I continue to get the message Failed - Server execution failed . This is happening on all of my mp4 files that have been saved on my computer. They used to open with windows media player. Now I get this message when I try to open them. I have found that I can open them when I open them with I think it is VLC. Could there be just a file association error that I need to locate and correct? Maybe the default program got changed? These are my thoughts at present. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi guys,
I need some help here. Windows 7 will automatically close my programs when my pc achieve to 75%-80% memory usage.
Example: I have 8GB total available memory, but my actual memory usage can only achieve up to 6GB. If memory usage exceed more than 6GB, the system will acting weird. (It starts programs crash,screen keep flashing)

I wish to fully utilize my memory usage up to 90~100%. Are there any settings tweakable?

Hi...for what it's worth, I operate a Win7 Home Premium x86. My wife has the same computer O/S. We've shared a router that's pretty much is on its' last legs...some of the rear ports do not work. I bought a new HP AirRouter 802.11n. I know these things have identifiers and things like my internet service is very interested in my router address.

Question is...until I get this new one up and running, is there a problem with shutting down the two systems, wiring the new one up and letting all the vitally interested systems identify this new router without me having to key in things like at the Network and Sharing Center.

Really is there a way to run two routers at that Center and merely selecting which one I want to use when I want to go online? I'm in Honduras and my service is fiber optic. Anything you can tell me to head me in the right direction would be appreciated. I don't want to screw up anything...right now everything is working as is. Just know that the router hasn't too long to continue performing.

Hi Guys, I have just upgraded to Windows 7 from XP and to Microsoft Outlook from OE6.........

I have 2 situations.......
1) I exported my contacts from my old PC (XP)... to my HD...then imported them to my Windows 7... Microsoft Outlook.....they came in TRIPLICATE......and would appear I have to manually delete 2 of the contacts.

2) I cannot get my list of contacts into alphabetical order...!!

any ideas guys....??

I was making a backup of my website files to Windows 7 with Cygwin (from a LAMP server, regular PHP script) and in the process something has created a file like this:

.62030.jpg.3bqiFX

In the folder where it appeared, there is a nother original file named 62030.jpg, which is an image file. So something has added that dot at the beginning and the ".3bqiFX" at the end. The file is 0 bytes and it belongs to the following Group or user:

S-1-5-21-3658720670-2097995755-1032747883-1001

When I try to paste it to disk C (from disk D), make a copy of it, I get the following results:

File Access Denied - You'll need to provide administrator permission to copy this file.
I am now on Windows 10 Pro (I upgraded today) and when I click Continue with that shield icon (this looks like I am pressing it as an administrator of the system or something like that, I get that:

You need permission form S-1-5-21-3658720670-2097995755-1032747883-1001 to make changes to this file.

I've been using Windows for like 15 years and I've never seen anything like that. Is there any way to figure out what this is and where it may be coming from? I will add that this is an important situation as this is a backup and I can lose a year and a half of all day / all week work. For this reason I am asking, and I would like to know what this is that I am dealing with (normally I would just delete it in some way, I guess).

I followed all the advice on the Microsoft Help link relating to Error 0x800F0826.
I downloaded and ran the recommended Windows Update pre-install tool, but the error persists.
I also downloaded the SP1 update directly from the Microsoft Help Site. Again the installation failed with the same unknown error code as above.
In every case the download would complete successfully.
However, on restarting the computer to allow Windows to complete the installation, an installation failed message would appear and Windows would then revert to its previous settings.
Reinstalling Windows 7 isn't an option since I do not have the Windows 7 disk.

Hey, I'm 15 and not that experienced at computer fixing, so I got counter-strike 1.6 warzone original from web and I can't uninstall it anymore.

I can't remove it from Control Panel and I try to use CCleaner now, but when I try to remove it under "tools" tab it says "Error: 2 - The system cannot find the file specified

Is there someone more experienced and could help me please?
I hope that's enough information, oh and when I try to uninstall it under Control Panel, it says "You do not have sufficient access to uninstall Counter-Strike 1.6 Warzone Original. Please contact your system administrator."


Adding more information.
Under Registry Editor I went through HK_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Wow6432Node -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion -> Uninstall -> Counter-Strike 1.6 Warzone Original
and there are 3 things.

(Default)
DisplayName
UninstallString

and when I click modify UninstallString it gives me this: 0:\Games\CS 1.6\Uninstal.exe

Just reformatted to Windows 7, updates Windows to the latest updates. I cannot seem to install my Intel VGA Driver https://us.msi.com/Motherboard/suppo...ml#down-driver

States your system is not compatible while running. I am on Windows 7 64 BIT and have downloaded the correct file. Any ideas?

I have Chrome on my computer and is works well. I also have Internet Explorer and Firefox. As of a few days ago both Internet Explorer and Firefox don't work. They come up with blank screens but don't respond to searches. This is on Windows 7. (By the way, I have run Malwarebytes (the paid version) and CCleaner). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The BIOS sequence is set to boot first on the DVD. My hard drive already has win7 but is seriously buggy. The problem here is after I clicked "on press any key", I did not see any option to erase the drive so I ended up to have a windows.old. So it is not a clean reinstall. Help?
