Backing Up Files

Hi everybody :

Recently, I was backing up some .jpegs to disk. I was using Memorex CD-RW disk. But, I noticed that the PASTE function was missing. I had to OPEN the pics in Photoshop, then SAVE them to disk. It's much easier if I could just Drag-And-Drop the files. How do I add the PASTE function to the context menu ?
Thanks

Windows 7 display driver stopped responding

Greetings all,

I have been working on Toshiba laptop recently and can't seem to resolve its issues. Here is a breakdown of the system:

Toshiba Satellite L505D
CPU: AMD Turion II Dual core Mobile M500 x 2
GPU: AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200
RAM: 4GB PC2 666 MHz
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)

Symptoms
When surfing Facebook, it will scroll pages for a short while and then display the message:
“Display driver stopped responding and has recovered”

Shortly thereafter, it will display the “blue screen of death” requiring a reboot.

Actions Taken
I initially ran standard cleanup utilities:
Ccleaner (4.7GB of junk files / 1,800 registry invalid entries)
Avast (various scans 0 viruses)
Malwarebytes (0 instances)
Super Antispyware (206 adware instances)
Auslogics Defrag (Defragged & optimized the HDD)

Streamlined the startup items removing a few junk items from the startup list

Gave the GPU more time by editing the Graphics Driver directory of the registry with a TdrDelay of 8 creating a new entry QWORD in this directory.

Results
The computer boots into Windows 7 without any difficulty.
It seems to be able to surf regular websites (including YouTube).
I have even played a video from a thumb drive without any issues.
However, when it is logged into Facebook and you begin scrolling through the pages, it will generate the error and eventually blue screen.

I removed both RAM modules and replaced them with some I had that was functional (same error).

Thank you for your input and attention to this issue.

Toshiba laptop not waking from sleep

Greetings all,

I have been working on Toshiba laptop recently and can't seem to resolve its issues. Here is a breakdown of the system:

Toshiba Satellite L505D
CPU: AMD Turion II Dual core Mobile M500 x 2
GPU: AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200
RAM: 4GB PC2 666 MHz
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)

Symptoms
When the computer's lid is shut or each reaches the preset limits for its power saving mode, the monitor goes black and the machine appears to enter “sleep mode”. However, when the lid is lifted, the monitor remains black and the computer does not respond to mouse clicks, spacebar taps or keystrokes to awaken. The CPU fan is running fairly fast, but the screen remains blank.
I am forced to hold down the power button in order to reboot the computer.
The computer works as expected until it once again enters sleep mode.

Actions Taken
There are many options with this particular model.
The one it is currently set to is produced by Toshiba and is called “eco mode”
I have also turned off “eco mode” and used the recommended power saving option from Windows.

Results
Both modes produced the same result – can't wake the computer.
It used to go to a Windows login screen when it came out of sleep.
Need to figure out how to get this back.

Thank you for your input and attention to this issue.

Good day

Recently my laptop has been receiving quite a bit of problems, so I decided to reinstall windows on it (Win 7 64 bit ultimate). The install goes well, untill it restarts, it then says updating registry and then it gets stuck at the 'starting windows' screen and just freezes there. I have left it for the entire night and nothing.
I have tried installing it with Win 7 on a usb as well.
Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Hi guys. I have drivers C: and D:. C: is the bootable where windows 7 sp 1 is installed and i accidentally mark as active the driver D: ... When I restarted, I can't boot my laptop now...
It says "Boot Mgr is missing. Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart". And when I tried using a bootable USB flash disk, Windows files loaded but redirects to a CMD. with that (X:windows\system32\) with it. and I can only press letter "I" which like it's browsing some file from A-Z files. Help please..:confused::frown::frown:

Annoying screen icon scambling.

I have a Dell E6530 running Win 7 Prof, and on occasions would like to attach a 24" screen when doing CAD work. However as soon as the screen is attached, the icon positions on both the laptop and second screen are "adjusted" (i.e. scrambled) to fit the screen's default resolution.
The screen resolution can be changed to a more useful value, but the icons remain scrambled even when it is disconnected.
Is there any way to prevent the "adjustment" or at least restore the icons to their original positions when the extra screen i removed?
I have a lot of icons on the laptop display, so manual restoration is painfully slow and tedious.

Can't Download Win-7 updates

Since Jan 11 2017, My HP Win-7 (Home) laptop has not been able to download ANY new Windows Updates. It just starts searching for Updates, but NEVER finds any. Prior to this, Win-7 Updates downloaded and installed fine for years.
I have tried it manually, or with a set time with no help.

I see many people have posted on the Web this same problem, and have tried some of the recommended fixes, but have had no success.

My HP Win-7 Pro Desktop continues to download and Install updates just fine.

Any help is appreciated ....

Hibernate option not working

I have a compaq presario. Im using Win 7. Ive been able to hibernate all this time. Now all of a sudden I cant hibernate. At first I thought it had to do with my battery. Since it had gone dead. I had thought it needed battery to go to hibernate and not lose its files. Then I was really disapointed when I got a new battery and it still didnt hibernate. I have to wonder if its the memory. If its because I have such low memory on my hard drive and its memory needs a certain amount of space. Ive looked up this issue online and havent seen anyone find any solution. Ive also played around with the options. I can put it into sleep but thats about it. I understand most people say who cares just put it to sleep. But Im one of those that if it has the option it should work. Plus is not the same thing. Ive also tried sleep hibernate and it wont hibernate. It does the same the same thing as in hibernate. It turns the screen off though the computer stays on. While the computer is on its on the user login option. Im sure its something trivial. I dont know how who makes pc's and we have to constantly being going around such bugs like these. I suppose thats why we have to constantly buy new ones for its actualization.

Bad Image Error

Hello everyone, I am getting a bad image error when trying to open one of our programs.

The PC is Windows 7 Service Pack 1 and has been running (this program) great for many years. Yesterday upon coming into the office we get the following error when trying to open a program called WeighWiz.

WeighWiz5g.exe - Bad Image
C:\Windows\system32\avicap32.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.

I contacted the software vendor and we tried a new exe file, but still got the same error.

What other information do you guys need from me to help me out with this?
