Graphiccard error after Windows 7 update

I have Widows 7 (6.1) Ultimate 64 bit.
and AMD Radeon HD 6570 graphics card.
Monitor SyncMaster P2450
Normally, I check updates from Window but this time I did not.
Updatelogg below.
After the restart, the graphics changed to the standard VGA and the screen to a generic Pnp display.
The AMD driver had error code 52.
I tried to rewind the driver but it caused the graphics card to disappear.
I have downloaded a new driver from AMD. Delete the old software with DDU in safe mode and try to install new driver, but no luck.
I have downloaded CPU-Z, which does not find my graphics card.
Some good suggestions?

Need some Windows 7 64 Bit Checksur.log error help!

Hello All, I need some help with an issue I have been dealing with for many months now!

I have a dell laptop with windows 7 PRO 64 bit OS W/SP1 and it has 2 distinct issues:

1) when I open programs & features in control panel and open the Turn Windows features on and off the box that appears is blank and has no windows features in it to choose to turn on or off.

2) windows updates will check for updates successfully but when choosing to install updates all important updates will fail.

I followed many forum suggestions from many sites and all to no avail. I have done many many things to try and resolve these 2 issues like:

1) Run Checkdsk /r: Disk is healthy and not broken (its brand new) and Run sfc /scannow - results says it found corrupt errors but windows cannot fix some of them.

2) Ran Windows system restore to no avail!

3) Followed this pages suggestions which seemed to work for many windows 7 users just not for me:

https://www.raymond.cc/blog/fix-blan...alfeaturesexe/

4) ran Windows6.1-KB947821-v34-x64.msu update on my computer several times and still no joy!

5) Followed the windows 7 update repair walk through guide:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...-update-errors

6) Reset the windows update installation folder and started to download windows updates again but then got stuck on failing to install windows updates again!

I have attached both my CBS.LOG File and the CheckSUR.log file in the attached Zip File.

Can someone please look at the checksur.log file and help me figure out how to fix this as it has many many errors identified in this log and is also missing many package files but i am unsure how to fix them or find them to restore them.

Thank You in advance for all your help!

Windows 7 Professional -- slow boot

$

Greetings all,
Seeking some advice on a Dell Optiplex 755 desktop.

System Specifications
Dell Optiplex 755
Dual-Core Processor
4 GB PC6400 DDR2 667 MHz RAM
160 GB SATA HDD
32-bit Operating System (Windows 7 Professional)

Symptoms

System seems to boot normally. However, it seems to be about ten minutes before the Windows operating system is responsive (i.e. clicking the start button brings up the menu and right-clicking on the taskbar will bring up the context menu). In addition, icons on the desktop are unresponsive.
After ten minutes, the operating system seems to respond normally. With just the OS running, the CPU reads 0% - 1% and RAM usage is around 704 MB.

Actions Performed

Cleaned dust from heat sinks and power supply
Re-seated RAM modules
Ran CCleaner - removed 1.8 GB of junk files
Ran Malwarbytes
Ran a series of scans with Vipre Internet Security (0 detections)
Removed non-essential startup items
Removed non-essential programs from HDD
Ran Avast Antivirus (full scan & boot scan) – found no problems
Ran Auslogics defrag on C:\ drive (only 2% fragmented)

Additional Actions

System boots quickly in “safe mode” without the long delay
Utilized the msconfig utility and set the bootup to use both cores and altered the Timeout setting from 30 to 7
Ran chkdsk as administrator and found no errors on the hard drive
In the Advanced Boot Options menu, I selected Repair Your Computer and selected:
Startup Repair – no changes
System Restore - no restore points available
Windows Memory Diagnostic - memory tests passed

Removed the hard drive from this Optiplex 755 and installed it as the boot disk in another Dell Optiplex 755 unit. The behavior of the system was identical. Basic hardware (PSU, MOBO, RAM, video) seems sound.
Downloaded Western Digital's Data Lifeguard Tools.
Upon starup, the software indicates the HDD has a SMART Status (Pass)
Ran a Quick Test and obtained:

Quick Test on drive 1 did not complete!
Status code – 07 (Failed read text element), Failure checkpoint = 97
(Unknown Test)
SMART self-test did not complete on drive 1!

This hard drive has a recovery partition (D:\). Just not sure how to access it to rebuild the primary partition. However, if the above message indicates the drive is failing, this would not be so useful.

Thanks for any guidance.

Latency problem, I think :(

Hello Gents,

From all I can tell I have a latency problem with my system. I've checked it with LatencyMon and it shows allot of red. And says,
"Your system appears to be having trouble handling real-time audio and other tasks. You are likely to experience buffer underruns appearing as drop outs, clicks or pops. One or more DPC routines that belong to a driver running in your system appear to be executing for too long. At least one detected problem appears to be network related. In case you are using a WLAN adapter, try disabling it to get better results. One problem may be related to power management, disable CPU throttling settings in Control Panel and BIOS setup. Check for BIOS updates".

I've put in all the updates and verified that drivers are current. I've tried adjusting the power management to 100%. I've updated the BIOS. There isn't any 'throttling' settings that I can find. Seems like these things helped some, but the popping and crackles still persist. I've only noticed this when accessing youtube.
I've read more stuff that I understand!

Any help is certainly appreciated!
Thank You!!!

No Restore Points.

Hi.

Just as usual, it seems every few months my PC must screw up for no apparent reason. About 2 weeks ago I just happened to check on my restore points -there are usually 4 or 5- and for some reason there were none. Weird. So, I created a restore point and the PC once again created a couple more as it always had. Then today I noticed that I had about 10 extra Gigs on the HDD. So, checked my restore points and again there were none.

So, what the hell is going on now ? This never happened before -until 2 weeks ago. I didn't do anything unusual on my PC.

Just to mention, System Protection is on.

Any idea ?

Thanks.

Unmountable boot volume BSOD

Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with my computer. As in the title the computer won’t load due to the uncountable boot volume error.

I did some research and I am attempting to boot from a windows 7 disk. When booting from the disc I can successfully get to to the screen where is asks me if I want to install Windows 7 or repair Windows 7. If I choose install then I get stuck at “setup is starting” with the cursor stuck in a loading circle, if I click repair then I get to a screen where it asks me to select the hard drive partition (windows shows as 0mb in D drive) but the cursor also gets stuck in a loading circle so I can’t hit next.

What would be my next steps, I saw to change Sata mode to ata but I only have Raid an native options. I also saw to run chkdisc or something along those lines in a recovery console but I don’t know how to access the console. Any help would b greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Can't boot Windows even in Safe Mode. Weird lines on screen

$

Hi everyone.

So my computer has been on the fritz for the last couple of days. I can't boot the Windows installation on my D drive which is my main installation. However, I can boot Windows on my C drive without any issues.

I should add that the D drive is a faster and less-used disk. I recently installed Windows on it because I was afraid that my old drive (C) might die on me any second.

What is the issue?

Can't boot into Windows. Can't even see the "Windows starting" screen with the Windows logo. After the motherboard splash screen, I get a black screen with some blue and purple lines at the top of the screen. But the lights on my keyboard and my mouse go on which normally happens when I get to the Welcome screen. I can't boot into Safe Mode either. I get the same lines at the top of the screen. I've attached some screenshots so you can see for yourselves what they look like. Maybe they might help you understand what the problem is.

What have I tried?

- Uninstalling graphics card driver using Display Driver Uninstaller. (This isn't the first time that I've had this issue with my computer. Whenever this problem started, I would uninstall my graphics driver, re-install it, and that would fix it, so before not being able to boot into Windows at all, I uninstalled my graphics card driver but this time it didn't take.)
- Boot into Windows via C drive, run CMD as administrator, chkdsk /f D:
- Boot into Windows via C drive, run CMD as administrator, chkdsk /r D:
- Boot into Windows via C drive, run CMD as administrator, sfc /scannow /offwindir=d:\windows /offbootdir=d:\
- Boot into Windows via C drive, go to Computer, open up drive D's properties, go to Tools, run Error Checking with both boxes ticked
- Run CMD through System Recovery Options, chkdsk /f D:
- Run CMD through System Recovery Options, chkdsk /r D:
- Run CMD through System Recovery Options, sfc /scannow /offwindir=d:\windows /offbootdir=d:\
- Reset BIOS to Fail-Safe Defaults.
- Boot into Windows via C drive, run Disk Defragmenter. The D drive was only 2% fragmented. So I didn't bother defragging it.
- Re-seated cables and hardware.

All the chkdsk tests completed successfully. They all fixed some stuff but they didn't solve the issue.

The sfc test was a bit weird. Normally, it gives you a percentage and says the verification has started. But for me, it only said "Beginning system scan. This will take some time." I waited for around 10 minutes, then it said "No integrity issues found." So, make of that what you will. Did it even work? I'm not sure. Because normally it shows you the progress.

I couldn't restore the system to an earlier build because apparently I had System Restore disabled all this time.

What could be causing this? How could I solve it? Any input is appreciated.

Sound issues (max volume produces very low sound)

$

Hello guys, I recently received a Gateway DX-4860 and factory reset the hard drive (was someone else's computer). When I attempt to play sounds of any kind (whether it be from the web or from windows media player) the volume is very, very low.

I tried with various external speakers and headphones, and volume remains the same. The levels of Realtek High Definition audio is also maxed out (the levels found within properties of playback devices).

The drivers are up to date according to device manager, and I've also tried manually updating them from Gateway's website as well.

This all leads me to believe it's the sound card. Are there any other troubleshooting techniques I can try before getting a new sound card all together? Thank you.

i have an Acer Aspire 5820TG TimelineX laptop with Windows 7.

After I applied the newest Windows Update, whenever I close my laptop lid and open it again, my trackpad and keyboard is unresponsive, and I have to shut down my computer (hold in the power button) and turn it on again to get in... This has never happened before.

How come, and how to fix this?

PrtSc of the recent update history if that helps:

[SOLVED] Getting access to old drive after videocard failed.

short version: need to recover files on a drive from old system to new sys (both win 7 pro. )
Can I just play with the security settings and 'take ownership' and by pass all the old account info? I still have all the login and passwords from the old drive.
( I tried installing it and booting it up...but it went into a loop, and i havent got a rescue disk handy...(I know I know..next time promise.)

Long Version.
Okay the story goes like this.

Old computer (~7yrs old) running win 7 pro.

Then one day (2 days ago) the Zotac videocard called it quits after 10,000's of hours of playing COD MW3, and youtube videos. It served me well. Moment of silence for the loyal hard working b@stard.

So, my system had a Asus PQ5 m/b in it, and it was older than the videocard ...way older. As I didnt have another videocard, and am short of cash currently, I decided to use the second sys I purchased (thank god) in may-june.

The new system is a proprietary POS I found out. but was only 350 bucks. Ebay...lol.

Its a Compaq pro 6300.
https://support.hp.com/ca-en/document/c03387773#AbT2
Everything about it is 'ultra hard to steal stuff'. Plus, the video slot doesnt allow a double size video card. But it does have an integrated intel graphics card on the board. and I can play COD MW3 with minimal settings.

So, I have put the old C drive in as a d drive and have a fresh install on a new drive in a new box.

But I need the files on it. How do I get em?

Can't uninstall a program in windows 7

Specifically, it is Everio Mediabrowser HD, there is no option to do so in the start menu. When opening the program, is it corrupted and does not display things right (such as the start menu options) when I try to uninstall it in add/remove programs I get this error:

They tell me it is a problem regarding Windows and that I must contact microsoft. I called that number they gave me 1-800-642-7676, but the only option is to pay for support. I just want to uninstall a program so I'd rather not.

Also, I get a little suspicious when they tell me to contact MS, they made the program, not microsoft, so how would MS know anything about it?

Running Windows 7 64-Bit on 2006 Macbook Core 2 Duo

I recently got Windows 7 64-bit to install and run on a Macbook 2,1 2006 Core 2 Duo laptop (model A1181). However, there's quite a few issues that I am having, and all stem from driver problems.

As I stated, I was able to get the computer operational (I'm typing this out on the laptop now actually) with Windows 7 without using Boot Camp, although it was a chore. I did this because I've heard people have issues with memory allocation and other strange crashes. I downloaded Apple's recommended Boot Camp 4.1 drivers for the system. However, when I run Setup it comes up with an error saying "This version of Boot Camp is not intended for this computer model". I decided I would try to manually install the drivers as it came with the zip file, but none of them are actually doing anything. The audio is still not working, the mouse refuses to acknowledge multi-touch (which means I can only left click, which is very annoying), and the keyboard won't use the usual shortcuts such as volume and brightness.

I attempted the same thing with the 4.0 Boot Camp, but ran into "Boot Camp x64 is unsupported on this computer model" which is hilarious because this is clearly an x64 machine (since Windows x64 is currently running on it). I have not tried the drivers from this one as it had me slightly worried; although I guess the worse it would do is just quit without doing anything.

Any help would be appreciated, and any driver downloads or other work-arounds (such as manually mapping the media keys on the keyboard) would be just as fine! Thanks!

P.S. - Didn't know if this was appropriate for the Windows thread or Mac...?

avgbIDSAgent service not starting

$

Hello - since the last time I was here, I've switched antivirus from Avira to AVG. Mostly because Avira starting doing scans that never ended and I was tired of it giving me strange issues. After some false starts, I installed AVG and things seemed fine.

But the last two times I started the computer, my AVG icon had the 'attention required' exclamation point. I opened AVG, and it said I'm not protected and need a restart, along with a 'fix it' button. I click the button and it's fixed, no restart.

When I looked in the Event manager, I found this message:
The avgbIDSAgent service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

Apparently, clicking the 'fix it' button' starts that, as there is a message for that time saying avgbIDSAgent service is running in the Event Viewer.

When Avira started having its issues I scanned with Malewarebytes and ADWCleaner, and I had AVG do a regular scan, plus Avira did a scan while I was trying to fix it (I un and reinstalled the program before uninstalling for good), and none came back with errors.

I have started the computer 5 times since installing AVG, it started doing this on the 4th startup - the one i did after my speaker icon disappeared and I was trying to fix that.

The computer is taking a very long time to start up (I use the Action Center flag as my sign that it is fully started as it's the last to load, and it's taken up to 4-5 minutes lately for the flag to appear). I'm not sure if that's relevant but this is happening during startup so I include it.

If I left anything out let me know and I'll try to include it. How do I fix this? It's been a rough week I can't take much more.
