I have an internal dvd drive on my laptop.
I can boot up from a Linux Live disc, but when I attempt to play a dvd in Windows 7 it won't play. The dvd player is recognized by the system, and I can even explore the files on the dvd. But when I try to play the files or copy them it doesn't work.
Since the dvd player works fine running a Linux Live disc it doesn't appear to be a hardware problem. I'm thinking there's some software fix for this.
I've had the laptop for a few years and this issue started in the last few months.
I've tried Microsoft's Fix It troubleshooting program, but it didn't help.
Any suggestions?
