Installing Windows 7 Recovery DVDs to a laptop with a new hard drive

My old laptop's (HP Pavilion DV6-1355dx) hard drive is malfunctioning, and the SMART feature is telling me a failure is imminent. I'm going to use the HP Recovery program to create a backup of Windows 7 to some blank DVDs.

When I install a new hard drive in the laptop, how do I go about installing Windows 7 to the laptop? At what point do I put it in the first DVD into the laptop? I've never done this before and dont know how to begin.
