If I associate a file type with a program, the association works fine until I restart Windows. Strangely, some associations work while others don't. For instance:
.pdf works
.html/.htm works
.iso works
Proprietary types like .mmip (MediaMonkey) work
(Although I have not tried changing these associations)
Nothing else works. Video, audio, picture, text, compression, all revert to default after Windows restarts. File associations were working fine before I reinstalled Windows 2 or 3 weeks ago.
Running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (x64) on a Lenovo Z580.
Any thoughts?
EDIT:
Should probably mention that I've tried using both Default Programs and the associated program itself to set the association, and while both work, both revert back to the default setting (unassociated, or associated to the wrong program) after Windows restarts.
