Some kind of DNS/Connection Problem?

I am so desperate for help right now. My laptop has been giving me this ridiculous connection issue for four days now. (windows 7, ASUS laptop)

I've tried flushing my DNS cache, to no avail.

I can't release my IP adddress because of some sort of "disconnected media"

My settings are to automatically acquire DNS and IP info in that TKIP thing.

I am not technically literate. I'm really not. I have a bunch of work due and no internet to work with. All I have is this ipconfig /all

I really need help. But please, dumb it down for me. I really don't understand most of this technical jargon.
