What's better for me 32-Bit (x86) or 64-Bit (x64)

Hello,
Title said it all, I have win xp now and they're broken... pc freezes everytime I hit enter, opening any kind of file or firefox tabs for few seconds, random pc freeze when I play games (any games), all video files are lagging in vlc and win media player 11 (all drivers and codecs updated), antivirus pops up with some "widgi toolbar spigot" threat everytime I turn on my pc, but when I run full antivirus scan it founds nothing and my razer naga starts to work only after 20minutes when pc is on.
Anyway... I think the best solution is to fully format hard drive and reinstall windows and since xp is old, why not windows 7
here's my pc spec.
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450
GeForce 8800 GTX
ASUSTek P5G41-M LX Motherboard
Corsair dual ram 2gbx2gb=3.5gb (why it's 3.5gb not 4?)
2 hard drives 250gb and 2000gb
and XFX Pro 550W PSU

so what windows should I install 32-Bit (x86) or 64-Bit (x64) ?
Thanks.
