My wife and I are about to bite the bullet and purchase/install Win 7. My thought was to get the family tri-pack. We have 2 desktops and a laptop. The best price I've seen so far is $149. Is that about right?
If the old computers we have would support Win 8, we'd do that but they won't. We've both used Win 7 a few times (on the Wi Fi tablet) and we're comfortable with it. Each of our desktops have 1 gig of RAM. I know the more memory the better, but will Win 7 run OK (for now) with that amount of memory? I think I want 64 bit (not sure why) but I guess I'm looking at upgrading both desktops to 4 gig.
I know we're going to lose everything on the two hard drives when Win 7 is installed. We trying to decide what to keep and what to save in the way of program data files. I have a couple of old hard drives, which I've converted to external drives. I plan to use them for temporary storage (both 250 gig).
I'm having trouble getting those drives to add a partition. One has 70 gig available, and the other 110 gig. I've tried EASEUS Partition Master and Mini Tool Wizard. Both seem to stop (the progress bars stop moving) about a 1/3 of the way thru. Somebody said they're both probably continuing to work behind the scenes, but why would they do that?
Anyway, will appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks.
Wes
