I want to essentially make a copy of certain directories on my hard drive onto another (External) hard drive. I also would, ideally but I can live without it if I need to, like to be able to do the same but to a cloud storage destination (e.g. SkyDrive). I only need it to be one way i.e. from my computer to the external storage location.
it is really just so that I can copy my important files to another location in case the worst happens to my hard drive.
I have been using GoodSync for a number of months and it seemed to suit my needs very well, however I have only just been told that it is actually a free-to-try software and it is now unusable on my system for the jobs I need.
Do you have any suggestions for usable backups i.e. being able to open up the other storage location and use the files without conversion of file formats (not disk imaging, I do this separately using clonezilla about twice a year)?
