strange message on screen when booting up

I am new to windows7 and just bought a new HP Pro 64bit computer.
When I boot up just before its up and running I see three small boxes in the
lower right of my screen. Box one has a "1" , box two has a "A" and box three has an arrow pointing down. Anyone know what this is about. The three boxes only stay on the display for about 10 second and then go away.
