i am running a Sony Vaio VGN-CR123E on windows Vista. I booted my computer up this morning and had no sound. Volume is up and it is not muted. i googled a fix and was suggested to right click the sound icon and click playback devices and disable the realtek driver then re enable it. when i disabled it, it disappeared completely. I went to the Sony website and redownloaded the driver. when it was complete it wouldnt finish installation because is is saying it need Microsoft Windows Vista. I AM RUNNING ON VISTA. i dont know what else to do and i do not have the disks at this time. i tried a system restore to 2 days ago and it wouldnt complete. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! i also tried the XP driver just for good measure and that obviously didnt work either.
