BIOHD-2

I think my hdd has failed but am not certain. I use my computer to record and mix music so it is crucial that I retrieve data that is on the hdd. I turned it off a few days ago, when i went to turn it on, it began making a "eeeee-erm" sound that repeats. sounds like it comes from the hdd. it doesnt boot up windows but goes to BOOT DISK FAILURE black screen. i am able to run diagnostics and it reports the hdd is fine (has green check mark) but when the diagnostics run the boot up it reads BIOHD-2. it does not allow me to run a system recovery, the hdd is not recognized. i cant even go into safe mode. so anything i can do? if it is "failing" anyway i could get into windows one last time to retrieve the data?
