Keyboard Issues

My computer has been running okay for about six months. Three days ago I woke it from sleep and some of the keys on my Dynex wired USB keyboard do not work. The buttons that open IE, sleep mode and calculator work fine but the number and letter keys do not.
In Device Manager there are three entries that are flagged.

1. USB Controller
2. USB Controller
3. Unknown USB Device

I right clicked and under Properties it says the device drivers are not loaded. I Let Windows update them but it says it cannot locate any drivers. I even plugged the keyboard into a USB port that I know works but it doesn't respond. Under Devices and Printers the keyboard shows up and if I select Properties it says This Device is Working Properly.
I even installed the Intel Chipset drivers from ASUS but that didn't work. I switched the keyboard out with one from another PC that I know works but it doesn't work on the subject PC. I'm running Windows 7 SP1 64 bit. I should also add that my Dynex mouse will not open a window with a double or single click in some areas. For instance if I click on Start then try to click on Control panel I get no response. I have to right click and select OPEN. Same with programs, I have to right click and select RUN. Not sure if this is connected to the keyboard issue or not.
