I have Compaq presario v6000 widescreen (service tag hp).
Laptop turns on normally but there is a problem with all the icons. There aren't any texts in those or anywhere, also when I go to ctrl+alt+del, there isn't text anywhere. When I click those objects it gets selected but nothing happens, and if happens there only comes an icon to the bottom of the screen...
I think the major problem has something to do with screen settings because right after starting up the laptop there is already a block on the bottom of the screen (don't know the proper name but the thing where things appear when they are running like itunes or safari)
DVD's are the only thing that's working.
There is nothing wrong with the touchpad or the mouse.
