Vista: long wait for desktop.

Hi all

I'm running a Dell Inspiron 530 desktop on Vista 32.

About six months ago I started to experience a long delay between log on and desktop appearing: perhaps three minutes on some occasions. Its not getting any worse, but nor is it getting better, and its an annoying waste of time!

Any ideas why this might be happening?
