I recently did a factory setting recovery and when I got it up and upgraded to Vista Home Premiium it downloaded the 1st of the updates using the shutdown method and when I tried to bring it back up it wouldn't come up. Tried several time to do another recovery and couldn't get it to work.
I took the hard drive to a shop and had the c drive reformatted and brought it home and started the System recovery with the factory disks that HP sent me. It took up to 4 hours to run the recovery and after taking the last disk out and clicking on finish it started to restart and then came up with a command prompt and it ran something and then said building partition. That action has now been running for about 24 hours.
Can some one please help me, I'm not computer illiterate but something just doesn't seem right and I can't figure it out.
Thanks
