Can't see text on the screen

When I try to display a list of folders in a folder I cannot see the text of filenames. i have to select all the filenames before I can see them.
Also when typing text into aword processor. I can't see the text I have typed as the screen is white.

I can display a photo on ne screen so I don't think tne problem i my monitor.

I tried to roll back the display driver but this did not fix the problem.
