off centre/double screen problem

Hello, my cousin gave me a laptop but told me about this problem it has, every so often it boots up like this but he doesnt have any idea why, its been reinstalled but still does it, anyone have any idea what the problem is ? Started doing it everytime i load it up today, normally loads properly after no more than 3 or 4 retrys
