Win7/Hard drive question

A Hp was recently dumped on me that apparently had a bad hard drive, I ran the diagnostics and yes it indicated a bad hard drive. The laptop came with a bunch of recovery disks from GEEKSQUAD ( I guess they worked on it previously). I ordered and received the new hard drive-same one that is already in the unit.
I have replaced the old one with the new one and rebooted-it comes up with a blue menu with several options for recovery---I have ran through a couple of them and inserted disk 1 through 7 for a very long load process to restore windows.
It finishes and then says to remove media and reboot--I do this and it comes up with no bootable disk found.

The old harddrive would boot up windows but it would crash-so i dont thnk its the boot sequence.....
any ideas ????
thanks and I appreciate the help!
