Did windows perform a 1-year rollback, by itself?

Dear tech support,

(Since this is my first post here, I hope it is in the right forum. My apologies if it isn't!)

The title pretty much describes the question I'm asking myself right now. I just noticed that all files, folders and software from the last year are missing. The most recent data is from May 2nd and onwarts (just the things I did on my pc since then), anything before that date is gone until april 2012. So basically there is a 1-year gap from which all data seems to have been removed.

More curiously: files, folders and software I have deleted in the past, are now back in the place they once were. This leads to me think that, somehow, my pc has performed/suffered a rollback of about a year after the Windows updates from May 2nd.

The whole thing puzzles me completely, never have I experienced something like this. Googling for information didn't help much either, nowhere could I find a similar story. Contacting the online Windows support chat resulted in a constant 'no employees are available', hence I decided to raise my question here.

Basically I want to ask you: do you have any idea what has happened and/or what to do about it? I am just clueless.

Some additional information:
- I am running Windows 7 Home Premium service pack 1
- My PC is about 5 years old, the oldest data dates back to 2008 and 2009. As mentioned, the old data is still present, it's just the most recent year or so that's gone
- The problem seems to have started after a large Windows update on May 2nd, especially since the most recent data is from that date onwards
- I performed a quick scan with ZoneAlarm and found no malware. This PC has no history of significant malware

Thanks in advance people, you are my hope right now!
Just let me know if you need any more info.

Kind regards,
Robin
