Windows 7 x64 SP1
Acer Aspire 5830TG
For about a month now, some software in my computer has not been working properly - it crashes immediately on starting, without giving an error message. The problem seems to be fixed after hibernating and restarting my computer several times (Not always), but then it stops working properly once again when I shut down and restart my computer instead of hibernating and restarting it.
The following software seems to be encountering this problem:
Daemon Tools User Interface
Free Download Manager
AVG User Interface
(Note - only the User Interface of AVG crashes. The rest of it works perfectly, detects viruses, etc. Same for Daemon Tools - ISOs are mounted properly, but the UI does not work)
I posted in the virus help forum, but the tools they asked me to use did not give any positive results, so this is most probably NOT due to a virus. Everything else seems to be working properly.
Has windows gone corrupt?
Please help. Thanks in advance.
