Computer won't boot

I was recently playing around with my computer trying to get it to run faster, and I decided my start-up items would be a good place to start. I opened up "msconfig" with Run, went to the start-up tab and deleted everything that didn't seem crucial. I also changed some graphics settings and de-fragged the system but I can't imagine those being the issue.

My problem is that now that I've turned it off, when I try to boot it won't get past the boot screen. It gives you the options to open the bios or the boot menu, (f2 and f12) but when I try to open them nothing happens.

I've tried booting in safe mode by holding f2 as it boots but it beeps at me and does nothing.

I'm worried that I might have deleted something crucial to the computer's booting process from the start-up menu, but I'm not sure.

Help?
