Hello, first time posting here. I have the same problem as u27dd in another closed thread here: http://www.techsupportforum.com/foru...er-365332.html
When I click on my DVD drive to explore it as a folder, nothing happens. In fact when I insert a DVD the autoplay dialog pops up, and I pick "Open folder to view files", but that's the end of the excitement. Nothing happens. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, SP1.
Related confusing observations:
I can work around it somewhat, but it's frustrating. Any ideas?

Related confusing observations:
- I replaced the physical drive. No change.
- I've deleted the device through Device Manager and allowed it to reinstall. No joy.
- I can write and play DVDs just fine, provided I can initiate activity without Explorer.
- PowerDesk, a 3rd party Explorer replacement, suffers the same problem.
- Another product, ACDSee32 (very old jpeg viewer with an explorer-like interface) DOES show me the files on the drive, so I assume it uses different calls that don't hit this particular snag.
- I can open and explore CDs in this drive just fine. The problem only seems to affect DVDs.
- There are no UpperFilter or LowerFilter entries anywhwere in my Registry.
