I was surfing the web and all of a sudden my computer turns it self off, while going through the shutdown processes as if I pushed the power button. When I went to turn it back on I see POST messages and tells me what I have connected and boots with what devices I have and then it gets to the part where its about to boot windows, and the screen goes black with no errors and just blinking DOS cursor and stays there until a reset or reboot and it repeats. I see no windows related screen.
This is a custom built computer desktop, I have an Asus motherboard with an I5 processor and a Gforce GTX570 video card, aprox 12 gigs of ram (Ripjaws). Instead of CPU fan I have a water coolant system. The kind that is kind of like a radiator. I have a 700w power supply. 1 TB hard drive and 2 SATA 200 GB hard drives. Plenty of fans, no dust. Running Windows 7.
Any ideas what could have caused this and how to fix it? I am an engineer so feel free to lay it on me thick.
