Major sound delay issue

Ever since this morning when I started up my computer, I've been having a problem with my sound freezing, or delaying. I log into my computer and I don't hear the Windows 7 log in sound right away, along with other sounds. They won't play at all until a random amount of time, which at that point every single sound plays that was supposed to play 5 minutes ago or however long it took. It'll repeat this delay either immediately or a few minutes later when I don't expect it, except for programs that still had sounds playing after the delay, which continue their sound playback until they stop playing sounds, only to have any following sound be delayed as well. One thing I did manage to find out is that whenever I open the volume mixer and adjust the master volume once, it triggers the sounds once, but doesn't stop the delay. I tried a few other things but, inconveniently, I forgot what I did try :banghead:.

These are my laptop stats as given from the Speccy summary section:
