I've tried everything to fix it: a clean boot, Microsoft fix-it, the system update readiness tool, the system file checker tool, and most of the other methods suggested in the forum here, but nothing has worked apparently. I continue to get a C800044E error.
The only major thing that I recall doing with the computer is disabling Windows Defender, since I already have Avast and Malwarebytes. After I did that, for a while it kept showing pop-ups saying "Application failed to initialize: 0x800106ba. A problem caused this computer's service to stop. To start the service, restart your computer or search Help and Support for how to start a service manually" (I figure I mention that in case it's what's causing the issue).
Looking though my programs, I see I have Malwarebytes as well as Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Could that be the problem? I have the free Avast program, so I don't have a firewall other then the one that came with Microsoft. I viewed my Windows' update history, and all it says is that it updated Hotfix for Windows this month. I'm confused and frustrated at this point. Help?
