Hey there I'm a techie and I can't seem to figure this out. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate X64 SP1 and I recently Left a homegroup of where i was staying at and I want to make a new one but when i go homegroup options it only gives me an option of joining Someone's homegroup. I live in a 4-plex and i have Comcast as an ISP with their all in one unit. Unfortunately i know that this modem unit doesn't support IPV6 and im not sure if thats a requirement to make a homegroup. Any help onthis would be greatly appriated.
I have already looked through some of Microsofts help threads and followed the guidelines to disable the Peer Idenity Manager and delete files associated with that then restarted the computer and it still was trying to join my neighbor's workgroup and Microsoft FixIt Tool won't load either.
Nvm... was the simplest things that i overlooked and i feel intelligent for overlooking it.... i changed the network type to public then back to home and it let me create one.... "Facedesk"
