User Profile Logon Failure

I have a Win7 2008R2 Domain Controller and client computers running Win 7 Pro. On some of my client workstations when you go to logon as any user other than admin the error message "User Profile Service failed the logon, User Profile could not be loaded". After some research on the web they suggest deleting the SID of the user profile in question. However the values in the registry do not match the article. It says that there should be a .bak ext on one of the values. I don't see this value, just long #'s. Anyone familiar with this problem or the work around (if there is one) please let me know.
