When I turn on my notebook I see:
"Windows Error Recovery
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.
If windows files have been damaged or configured incorrectly, startup repair can help diagnose and fix the problem. If power was interrupted during startup, chose start windows normally
Launch Startup repair (recommended)
Start Windows Normally"
I click on "Launch Startup repair (recommended)" and see:
"Windows Boot Manager
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1 Insert the installation disc and restart your computer.
2 Choose your language settings, and then click "Next."
3 Click "Repair your computer.
status: 0xc0000034"
I then pop in the installation disc, restart the computer, click "Repair your computer" and see:
"Error
This PC is not supported by the System Recovery Discs
You will not be able to continue to recover this system with these discs"
Is there hope for it or is it time for a new one? Its a Compaq Presario CQ60 with Vista.
Thanks,
X
