Hello,
As most of the people here, I seek help and advice for a problem with my computer.
Let me introduce my laptop to you first by giving you the specs.
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2670QM CPU @ 2.20GHz
Memory: 6GB RAM
System Manufacturer: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
System Model: N53SV-S1827V
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium SP 1
Display: NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M
Intel(R) HD Graphics Family
Sound: Intel(R) Display Audio
Realtek High Definition Audio
So. Now for the problem that I have.
I have bought this laptop 31st of August, now 3 weeks ago. Ever since the first day I booted it, it has been giving problems with playing sounds and recognizing the speakers.
When I have booted the computer and I play sounds/music with the speakers, it works perfectly, but after a while, the sounds start 'sparkling', like blown up speakers. That is the first sign of that things are getting weird. After that, the system sounds wont work anymore. Then, windows media player and youtube wont play music anymore. And last but not least, the speakers won't get recognized anymore.
However, when I am already in a Skype call, that sound still works, until I close the call, then i can't call them back and I will get an error saying that there is a missing playback device.
When I then reboot the system, everything works perfectly again.
Also, when I plug in my earplugs, I sometimes still get the 'sparkles' but the sounds won't disappear. So I think it should be something of speakers only. But I could be wrong.
Ok, that was the problem. Being quite the nerd myself, but not as skilled as a lot of people, I tried to fix it myself. Here is a list with things I already tried but failed to work:
- Re-installing drivers.
- Most drivers, chipsets, motherboards, soundcards, graphics cards, the whole thing.
- Re-installing windows media player.
- Multiple browsers to try youtube.
- Rebooting multiple times.
- Several different register keys.
- Remove Realtek and replace it with a Microsoft driver.
- After reboot, the Realtek was still there and the Microsoft never got installed, according to the computer.
- Enabling and disabling the outputs.
- Uninstalling Bluetooth.
- Bluetooth is crashing once everyday, which is really weird, because the device is not even activated. And usually around the time that Bluetooth crashed, the sound also went away, not always though, but most of the time it was.
- Changing the Realtek settings.
- Yelling at it. (Seriously, it did not work..)
That should be everything. There might be some stuff left that I fail to remember.
One of the situations I've had with this problem.
Like I usually do, I was playing my youtube favorites list. And from the one on the other video, the sound just disappeared. Skype was working, but youtube, WMP and the systemsounds did not do anything. The sound icon even said that there were no speakers installed.
So. Now my question. Does ANYONE out there what for crying out loud is wrong with my laptop? I'm getting kinda frustrated by this..
I'd like to hear from anyone soon.
Nanou
