My computer crashes when I right click on any jpeg (possibly other picture file types but not video) and then go to "open with". I can't do Ctrl alt delete and have to power off. Ive tried Various fixes involving Event logs with errors involving WMI ID 10, Where my event manager found An error with WMI. i corrected this and the problem persists. Below is a brief history of my problems before this...
Thanks
Craig
I've recently been asked by a friend to fix her computer. Initially the problem came when a folder containing photos was opened. The thumbnail previews would try to load and then the computer would crash. The mouse and keyboard became ineffective and I have to power off the laptop.
I turned off the thumbnail preview (always show icons never thumbnails ON) in folder settings and it was problem solved. However, if I clicked on the "preview" button at the top of the folder, the computer would crash. After some research I gave up, but decided to see if it still happened if I turned the previous setting off again. I unchecked "always show icons, never thumbnails" and "display file icon on thumbnails" and now picture folders load up fine! Then I discovered the problem with open with. Obviously I can just avoid going to open with- I'm just curious if someone knows how to fix this.
Thanks
Craig
