Hi folks
For some time now, Mrs WereBo's Toshiba Satellite (Win-7 Home Premium + all updates) has been pestering her with the message: 'Open File Security Warning', every time she double-clicks on a pic to edit, from an outside source (Internet, CD/DVD, USB mem-stick etc.).
I've googled quite a few possible cures, but they all depend on having the '(Local) General Policy Editor', which is missing from this OEM Win-7 installation.
Several answers suggested checking whether the 'Local Intranet' settings (Internet Options-Security) entry 'Launching applications and unsafe files' is set to enabled, which it is, and the UAC is set to 'Off'.
Does anyone know of a workaround-cure for this, as it's a real PITA when she's using dozens of pics for her crafting (making 3D-greetings-cards etc.)
I'm fairly confident working in the Registry if required, though I couldn't find any possible cures that used that route, apart from 1 site that gave a load of .BAT files, which I'm always wary of using, when from 3rd-party sites.
Thanks in advance all
