Almost all games and apps no longer work after recent windows update.

Hello people I require some help.

After Microflops recent updates this Tuesday almost all my games except minecraft (thank god) have stopped working, I click on the desktop icon and some might load to the "click to play" screen but won't do anything after that and STEAM won't load at all.

Now I've been browsing the net and I found that Microsoft decided to release 6 botched patches this Tuesday and one of them KB2859537 has been causing issues with some games for people.

So far to no avail I will add I have uninstalled the KB2859537 patch and tried to do a system restore but it didn't help as all games are still unresponsive.

I have also done a full system scan in safe mode with Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwear bites, both of these came up clean.

As I still haven't found a way to get my games running normally again I am wondering if you guys and gals could suggest anything to me as I'm out of ideas.

Also Please note it's nor possible for me to re install windows as I was never issued with the win7 cd when this system was built for me.
