Installing Win 7 recovery image, error 114

Hi,

We have 2 Sony VAIO PCs, both about 18 mths old. The 2nd PC was just acquired from my nephew who had reformatted the hdd and then discovered that he did not have a Windows disc nor did he make a recovery disk. So the machine is now naked. We have recovery disks from our 1st PC and I have been trying to use these disks to reinstall Windows on the newly acquired, 2nd PC. However I get an error message as follows;

"Cannot use the Recovery Media for this computer. Confirm the model type." Error 114.

I assume that the reason for this is that the recovery media is specific to the machine that is was created on. However as both PCs are the same make and model I was wondering if there is a work around for this or if I have to order replacement media.
