I'm fixing my cousin's pre-owned HP notebook that has been running very slow, probably because of her using torrent, possibly because of malware. Problem is, she did not get the recovery discs.
I wiped the hdd (KillDisk) and tried to use my own recovery discs (for Acer, Win7 Starter). Everything went fine up to disc 4 but it's now stuck on "installing launch manager" for past 3 hours.
I anticipated the only difficulties will be due to the Acer-related applications but it seems I was wrong. Is there a way for me to fix this? I did some reading but have yet to find anything relevant. (Unless it's about the PQService partition.)
Thanks in advance!
