Weird Hang Issues

So here is what happened, what I did, and then the problem I am now having.

I did some windows updates and installed the update for desktop protocol 8, afterwards I started getting BSOD's for just about everything so I did a system restore assuming it was the update that somehow caused it. Since I did the restore my computer seems to hang on almost every program and then it will eventually freeze and I will have to force it to turn off just to restart it, but at least the BSOD hasn't come back since I restored it lol..

Anyways I have no idea how to check what it could be now or how to fix it, any help or assistance you guys can give would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
