I am running windows 7 OS on two different systems, i.e., on my PC and laptop. I purchased my laptop in 2009 and it has gotten extremely slow and unresponsive lately, for which reason I have decided to rule out all malware and defragmentation problems by performing a clean reinstall. However, I have misplaced the original OS disc for my laptop (originally vista) and the upgrade disc from vista to win7.
I do have a win7 installation disc for my PC (although it is 64bit as compared to the 32bit installed on my laptop) and would be using that disc to install the OS to my laptop. I am aware that you can have only one installation of win7 for each product key.
Therefore, my question is, whether I would be able to use my PC's win7 64bit installation disc to reinstall a 32bit windows on my laptop and whether the product key for my laptop's current win7 installation can be checked somewhere from my laptop?
