Which backup software would you guys recommend that could handle the following needs:
Right now, I have a 1TB main drive being backup up every morning to another 1TB drive upon booting the PC. I'm using Windows 7's Backup and Restore utility. I like it at the beginning, but when I started realizing it was making my backup size increasingly bigger, I decided to question it.
I have the utility set to keep an image file as well as raw file backups of the entire main drive, so I'm aware that the backup size might be bigger than the main drive is actually using, that's not the problem. the problem is that I downloaded movie files daily that are temporary stored on my main drive until I transfer them to my other 3tb storage drive for good. But sometimes, the morning backup process runs in the morning before I've had a chance to migrate those files, so they get copied to the backup file. This makes it so that at the end of the week, my backup file contains all kinds of big movie files that aren't on my main drive anymore, making it a far bigger backup than what my main drive is holding.
Plain and simple, I need something that will look at my computer at the end of each day or at the beginning of each morning and add what is new on the main drive to the backup, but also remove or edit from the backup what has changed on my main drive.
I'm aware of all the full, incremental, differential and RSync backups that exists but I don't know which would do this the best.
