Issue with brightness self-adjusting

I have a HP dv6 laptop, intel core I3, 4 GB, running windows 7 sp1.

The issue is the brightness will rapidly adjust itself intermittently. This is a new problem, Im not sure if there is any settings I can adjust or whatnot before taking it in for repair. Any help is appreciated!
