This is for an Inspiron running Windows 7 Home Premium build 7601; service pack 1. It originally had an admin profile and a user profile with admin rights. When it starts up, everything seems fine. Once I click on the profile to load it, though, it tries for about 15-20 minutes or so and then loads a temporary profile. Safe mode with networking works okay. I tried copying all files onto a new profile, but the new profile does the same thing. It might be worth noting that while it is trying to load, if I click Ctrl+Alt+Del, the menu pops up with lock, switch, log off, change password, and task manager. A mouse pointer will come up and I can move it around, but clicking, right-clicking, and double-clicking do not do anything. If I click Task Manager, it does eventually come up, though. Maybe 5-10 mintues later. It shows dwm.exe, csrss.exe, explorer.exe, winlogon.exe, taskmgr.exe, taskhost.exe, hstart.exe *32, Toaster.exe *32, RPLauncher.exe *32, and STService.exe *32. They have memory listed but 00 under CPU for all of them.
Tonight, I made a new user profile with no files, but after almost an hour of loading, I gave up. What should I do? Or, what more information can I provide? Thanks in advance for any help.
P.S. I tried installing Speccy to give you better details, but it goes to the output folder and stops.
