Freedom Scientific MAGic 12 causing freezing

I have a customer using Freedom Scientific MAGic v 12 (for screen magnification) and JAWS v 14 (for screen reading). She's on Windows 7. So, I've got a customer at work who's going blind. Everything about this situation works fine, except that when MAGic's magnification mode is enabled, almost any Javascript-intensive website causes her web browser to crash. She has IE 9 and Google Chrome 22. When magnification is off, everything in IE or Chrome is fine.
What I (and a few of my coworkers) have tried so far:
1. Clearing cache in both browsers.
2. Removing/reinstalling MAGic and JAWS.
3. Removing/reinstalling the video intercept drivers MAGic uses (FSVideoIntercept).
4. Making sure all the latest OS updates are installed.
5. Running the browser with add-ons disabled.
6. Turning off all Windows graphic enhancements (Aero etc).
7. Reinstalling video card drivers.
8. New Windows user profile.
9. Getting a replacement computer for the customer with fully updated drivers and software.
None of the above worked, and I'm out of ideas. The vendor can't help me because the sites where the customer really notices the issue are internally-developed sites the vendor can't get access to.
Things I've thought of trying but can't try for various reasons:
1. Updating browsers to newer versions. What I can install for this customer is heavily locked down. Anything new that I want to put on any office-owned computer has to go through extensive testing and approval to ensure it doesn't break something.
2. Installing Firefox. I could probably get approval to do this, but since Chrome didn't help, it hardly seems worth the battle. Firefox is treated as a "developer-only" tool here. Ordinary users have IE9 and Chrome.
While the Windows 7 Microsoft Magnifier is an option, it's not preferable because MAGic magnifies the whole screen and has some nice screen overlays to assist people with limited vision.
Anyone have any suggestions?
